Children's Hospice South West
Hospitals and Health Care
Providing hospice care for children and young people and with life-limiting conditions.
About us
Children’s Hospice South West cares for families with children and young people who have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, who are unlikely to live to adulthood. At our three beautiful children’s hospices in Devon, Cornwall and Bristol, we support parents, brothers and sisters and the affected child from diagnosis towards bereavement and beyond. We can relieve the burden of caring for a sick child from families and allow them to spend precious time together focusing on just being a family. To face the reality of losing your child means those who desperately need our help face an uncertain and fragile future. We walk alongside them providing respite care, palliative and ultimately end of life care for their child. We need to raise just under £12 million a year to run our three hospices. The money that we receive from the Government is not guaranteed each year, therefore we need to rely entirely on voluntary contributions to safeguard our service into the future. We would like to start the week by thanking our friends at Camel Glass & Joinery Ltd (Camel Group) for raising an impressive £8,698 following a year-long series of fundraising events which included: sponsored bike rides, festive Santa runs, a 100-mile castle trek completed in 4 days, and several raffles and quizzes. They not only engaged their employees but they also engaged members of their local community - the perfect ingredients for a successful year of fundraising which we are so grateful for. We couldn't agree more with the words of Mat Jones Managing Director, at Camel Glass when he said: "Our team put in tremendous effort and enthusiasm into each event, and the support from the community has been overwhelming." Thank you all 💚

Our amazing Operations Lead at Charlton Farm, Matt Norman, has been undertaking a series of challenges this year to raise money for CHSW. 💚 From cycling 200 miles from Bristol to Cornwall, to walking from Bristol to Bath, so far he has raised more than £3,000. 🚴♀️ Matt will complete eight challenges during 2024. And with 5 already in the bag, there’s still 3 to go, including a 12 hour fit-a-thon. If you want to support Matt and help him raise money for CHSW click the link in our bio. Matt, we think you’re amazing!

🏏"We are absolutely bowled over by the commitment from the entire Goonvean Holdings Ltd towards our partnership. Their latest fundraising event was a Goonvean Summer Games, attended by 9 teams from across the entire organisation from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset - well over 100 employees donated to take part. Competition was fierce but the sentiment of the day was having fun while fundraising. 👏 Their generosity and commitment to our partnership will make a huge difference to families with a child or young person with a life limiting condition. We are hugely appreciative of their support."💚 Hayley Wallbank, Regional Partnerships Fundraiser for CHSW Matthew Gazzard James Mullins Katie Ovenden Paul Courtney Gubs Hayer
