This week, Cavendish Nuclear kicked off a new era with an inspiring induction for 39 apprentices and 50 graduates. The three-day induction saw our newest recruits meet with the senior leadership team and gain valuable insights from our graduating early careers cohort, offering our new starters a glimpse into their potential futures. The graduating cohort were also honoured at a celebratory evening, recognizing their hard work and achievements. Becky Nicholls Early Careers Manager said, “This year is the first time we have brought our new starters and graduating cohorts together which is a fantastic way to celebrate both communities and for our new starters to see what their early careers journey could be. Welcome to the 2024 cohort and congratulations to the graduating early careers”. Find out more about the opportunities with Cavendish Nuclear here https://lnkd.in/e_RDbwDS

Great to see Seònaid Hume, Physicist and Holly Barratt, Physics Graduate representing Cavendish Nuclear at Durham Summer School careers fair. Seonaid and Holly are both passionate about nuclear physics and were thrilled to have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences with the students. They spoke about the important work Cavendish Nuclear does in the field of nuclear energy and went on to demonstrate the latest AmCam* equipment, which proved to be a big hit with the students. They explained how this technology is used in their day-to-day work, and how it plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of nuclear facilities. Holly said, “Seonaid and I would like to thank the University of Durham for having us at this event, which aimed to educate PhD students on their options post-academia. We were very impressed with the students, who asked great questions during the Q&A panel and seemed genuinely engaged when talking to Seonaid and myself at our stand!” *AmCam find out more here https://lnkd.in/dq6UHxgx Find out more about the opportunities at Cavendish Nuclear here https://lnkd.in/e_RDbwDS

It was great to be part of Manchester Pride on Saturday 24th August!   Donning bee antenna deely-boppers to tie in with the theme this year of “Buzzing to be Queer” Cavendish Nuclear participated in the entirety of the 60-minute parade spanning the city centre, along with thousands of people who showed up to watch and celebrate LGBT+ inclusion.   It was a great event enabled by likeminded organisations who recognise the importance of inclusion as part of being a sustainable organisation. #inclusion #pride #bekind

We are really proud of our Social Impact Lead, Anne Marie Melvin at Cavendish Nuclear, who recently organised a series of training sessions focused on the Sellafield ‘Together for Good’ volunteering platform. The ‘Together for Good’ volunteering platform is a Sellafield Ltd led initiative and has been instrumental in helping Cavendish Nuclear achieve its volunteering commitments. The platform offers a variety of volunteering opportunities for employees to get involved in, ranging from community projects to charitable activities. Through the platform, Cavendish Nuclear employees have been able to make a positive impact in the communities where they live and work.
