About us

Born from innovation, Burberry is a global luxury brand with a rich British heritage.  Founded in 1856, our brand is underpinned by our founder’s passion for the outdoors. Thomas Burberry invented the innovative rain-ready fabric gabardine to protect explorers from the elements. In doing so, he created the foundation for the iconic Burberry trench coat, which remains core to the business even today.  Guided by our history of exploration and our shared belief that ‘creativity opens spaces’, our purpose is to unlock the power of imagination to push boundaries and open new possibilities for our people, our customers and our communities. As a values-driven brand, we are committed to creating the next generation of sustainable luxury and believe that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to fulfilling our purpose. Fostering an inclusive culture where differences are valued and embraced enables us to be more creative, engaged and make a more meaningful contribution to the world around us. Burberry Inspire is a global programme dedicated to providing safe spaces for young people to explore their creativity, develop new skills and foster positive change in their lives and in their communities. Last week, the programme’s mission was taken to new heights with our first Burberry Inspire showcase, which saw young people from twelve OnSide Youth Zones come together to celebrate creativity and inspire each other. The talent showcase saw the unveiling of an arts mural, a performance of a scene from ‘Oliver!’, the demonstration of a Burberry Inspire Kit Car Project, and more. Chief Executive at OnSide, Jamie Masraff, commented, ‘We loved being part of the Burberry Inspire Showcase! It was amazing to have over 60 young people dancing, singing, and showcasing their Burberry Inspire initiatives along to their own DJ soundtrack! We are grateful to The Burberry Foundation for empowering tens of thousands of young people across our Youth Zone network from Carlisle to Croydon.’ Discover more about the Burberry Inspire Showcase here: https://lnkd.in/gBwxDg2q

Last week, The Burberry Foundation hosted its first Burberry Inspire Showcase, bringing together young people from across the nation in a celebration of creativity.    Hosted at our office in Leeds, the event saw over 60 young people from twelve OnSide Youth Zones present a project that they’ve been working on within the last year.    The VP, Head of Burberry Business Services in Leeds, Rob Blomfield, and employee volunteer at the Burberry Inspire Showcase commented, ‘It was so inspiring to see the young people come together to showcase the projects they’ve been working on, and to demonstrate the new skills and confidence that they’ve developed through the support of Burberry Inspire. I’m in awe of the talent and creativity that we witnessed and hope that we may see some of these young people return to Burberry as colleagues in the future.’    Discover more about the Burberry Inspire Showcase here: https://lnkd.in/gBwxDg2q

Last week, our new CEO Joshua Schulman was welcomed to our London HQ where he hosted his first Global Townhall. Addressing our colleagues in the room and virtually from all over the world, Josh spoke about his admiration and respect for our 168-year-old brand and the opportunity to continue innovating on our storied heritage.  He recognised our colleague’s passion for Burberry, our breadth of global talent, and the importance of uniting our creativity around our original purpose – to create clothing to protect people from the weather.

The Rocking Horse bag showcases a new house motif through its closure detail – a lowercase ‘b.’     The ‘b’ shape is comprised of a steel circular fastening, which also pivots in place to open and close the bag. Interconnected mechanisms, obscured from view, work in tangent to rotate the hardware.     Discover more about the Rocking Horse bag here: https://lnkd.in/eewEzUmc
