I help companies get ahead with SAP

The 5 biggest S/4HANA adoption challenges you need to know about: And what does it all mean for SAP customers? I’ve summarised the most interesting discussion points below from this week’s live panel debate on the latest S/4HANA adoption metrics. Have a point of view? Leave a comment 👇 1️⃣ S/4HANA Adoption Data:  👉 Even with looming deadlines, only a fraction of customers have completed their migrations, with many projected to go beyond the 2030 deadline.   👉 Pierre-Francis Grillet noted that SMEs make up 85% of SAP's ERP customers and are skewing adoption rates due to shorter project durations.     2️⃣ The Importance of Phase 0 and Planning:  👉 Paul Coetser emphasized that Phase 0, the initial planning stage, is crucial, noting that proper planning can prevent costly mistakes and delays. 👉 Robert Holland advised that you should learn as much as possible about your systems and options first and connect with knowledgeable partners.    3️⃣ Impact of RISE with SAP:  👉 Robert Holland shared that confusion around RISE initially slowed adoption, but there has been a recent uptake as customers become better educated. 👉 He also highlighted that some companies are using RISE as an infrastructure play without immediate plans to move to S/4HANA.    4️⃣ Resource Constraints and Market Trends:  👉 We discussed the growing issue of resource scarcity, where finding skilled professionals is increasingly difficult, driving up costs and delaying projects.   👉 Pierre-Francis Grillet added that the introduction of tools like BTP has resulted in unstructured implementations, further complicating this.    5️⃣ Navigating SAP’s Evolving Ecosystem:  👉 There’s confusion around BTP and clean core strategies, and I urged customers to also consider both in-app and side-by-side extensibility. 👉 Paul Coetser advised companies to carefully evaluate their business risk, especially around data governance and subscription models like RISE.     Missed this session?     Watch it on demand here: https://lnkd.in/duFz2SpQ

Basis Technologies CTO David Lees recently developed and published an SAP S/4HANA Adoption Model. Several critical data points for customers have emerged from that model: 43% of SAP ECC customers will not have completed their SAP S/4HANA migrations by the end of 2027. 55% of all SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA customers will be out of mainstream maintenance by 2027. Demand for migration resources will peak at the end of 2027, requiring 75% more resources than today. Register Now: https://hubs.li/Q02MlR2f0

Looking to try and apply this to the SAP market "hyperscalers on track to take up 60% of datacenter capacity by 2029" https://lnkd.in/dYuS8sTd I wonder what the workload split will be for S/4. I suspect more than 60% will be with Hyperscalers as even On-Premise licensing can be deployed there. What are your thoughts?

“EWM managers are stuck between a rock and a hard place,” explains our very own Barry Green in a recent feature with Supply Chain Digital. “The organization needs to make changes in order to remain agile and align with business strategies, yet each change – big or small – adds more risk of operational disruption.” Find out how the right data during the planning and design stage of EWM changes can give you and your business the confidence that you’ll deliver updates on time, every time, without disruption: https://lnkd.in/e9wwnEEk

Are you an SAP customer or professional based in Australia or New Zealand? We have some predictions for you 👇   After the launch of David Lees’ S/4HANA Adoption Model, several critical data points have emerged:   1️⃣ 43% of ECC customers will not have completed their S/4HANA migrations by the end of 2027.  2️⃣ 55% of all ECC and S/4HANA customers will be out of mainstream maintenance by 2027.  3️⃣ Demand for migration resources will peak at the end of 2027, requiring 75% more resources than today. To help you navigate these challenges, we’re bringing together a distinguished panel of SAP experts with a tailored focus on Australia and New Zealand in a live discussion. Hosted by the model’s creator, David Lees, the event will explore topics such as: - Considerations for “early adopter” S/4HANA customers facing maintenance issues in Australia and New Zealand.  - How to address finite migration resource demand peaks and their budget implications.  - Migration timelines and the difference between “started”, “live”, and “completed” phases. - Maintaining ECC alongside S/4HANA due to data retention needs and integration complexities. 📅 27th August 2024 ⏰ 2pm AEST (live) Register here: https://lnkd.in/eeM8VbSx
