🚨 BAM Called Upon for Emergency Works at Merstham Cutting 🚨 BAM recently delivered emergency stabilisation works at Merstham Cutting on behalf of Network Rail following a landslip near Merstham Tunnel, on the main London to Brighton railway line. Meaning commuters could get back on track as quickly as possible. Our team: 🔧 Removed failed material using a spider excavator during a 27-hour possession. ⚙️ Installed soil anchors and drape netting to prevent further disruption. 🧗 Overcame steep terrain and challenging access with specialist techniques. By working closely with Network Rail, we also identified a sustainable solution to repair a frequently used access point which will lead to: 🌱 Reducing carbon emissions. 🚜 Improved safety and access. #Teamwork #EngineeringExcellence #SustainableSolutions #Collaboration #MakingPossible

A school building that optimises learning skills, not heating bills. Good luck to the pupils at Columba’s RC High School and Woodmill High School in Dunfermline today, who begin school life in their brand-new school. At 26,666m2, the new school is the largest Passivhaus school in Europe and the first to open its doors in Scotland. The highly-insulated school building will host over 2,500 pupils. The ground-breaking design will drastically reduce the school’s carbon footprint as well as its whole-life running costs, meaning more money can be invested in educating young people rather than heating the building.
