We're delighted to announce that AKF and WWF have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for mutual collaboration and coordination on ecological conservation and environmental management, addressing the challenges posed by climate change and promoting sustainable socio-economic development in #Pakistan. The MoU will enhance synergies and encourage both AKF and WWF to undertake joint efforts to promote ecosystem conservation and sustainable agriculture in Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh. This will focus on conservation education, public health and dryland agriculture, as well as ecosystem conservation mainly through mangrove plantations, establishing protection/watch and ward systems and fostering sustainable livelihoods in mountain, coastal, and dryland areas. Both entities will support each other in forging partnerships with organisations and organised communities to facilitate the implementation of relevant project initiatives. #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #AKF #WWF #QualityIOfLife
Over ons
Building a future where we all thrive together. The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network, is a private, not-for-profit, non-denominational, international development agency established in 1967 by His Highness the Aga Khan. AKF brings together human, financial and technical resources to address some of the challenges faced by the poorest and most marginalised communities in the world. With an emphasis on women and girls, AKF invests in human potential, expanding opportunities and improving quality of life. AKF leads a range of integrated, innovative and gender sensitive interventions in agriculture and food security; civil society; climate resilience; early childhood development; education; health and nutrition; and work and enterprise. Interventions are informed by evidence, data, local knowledge and extensive networks of community-led institutions. Its activities are coordinated not only with those of other AKDN agencies but also with local, national and international partners in order to bring to bear a full package of multiple activities that can spark a long-term process of positive change. In addition, AKF often plays a convening, partnership development, policy dialogue and resource mobilisation role for the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and its agencies.

🎉 Farmers and AKF staff celebrate "Farmer's Day" in Dodoma, Tanzania, during the Nane Nane Exhibitions - a convening of farming stakeholders. 🌾 AKF recently trained over 200 farmers in the region in regenerative farming techniques. 🌱 The trainings provided practical, eco-friendly organic farming solutions and formed part of AKF's Maendeleo (meaning 'progress' in Swahili) initiative, which is promoting regenerative farming in six regions across the country. 📍Dodoma, Tanzania 📸 Japhet Wangwe Aga Khan Foundation East Africa
