  • In line with our commitment to sustainable innovation and our goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, we are excited to announce the deployment of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) in our Singapore data centres. This makes us the first local operator to use HVO as a renewable replacement for conventional diesel fuel in backup generators. Supplied by Neste, HVO is a cleaner and more sustainable fuel option. Produced from waste fats and vegetable oils, it significantly reduces carbon emissions and cuts greenhouse gases by up to 90% over its lifecycle compared to fossil diesel.   "At STT GDC, we are committed to implementing innovative solutions that not only enhance our operational efficiency but also contribute to a sustainable environment," said Lionel Yeo, Chief Executive Officer - Southeast Asia, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres. "The deployment of HVO in our operations is a significant step towards achieving our sustainability goals and supporting Singapore’s emissions targets. As our business grows, we want to continue to embed sustainability into every facet of our business, while at the same time, support the industry’s efforts to accelerate the use of renewable fuel sources.”     Read more: https://lnkd.in/gFFx9iX3   #STTGDC #EnablingOurDigitalFuture

  • With mounting concerns about the impact of higher rack densities on our digital infrastructure, understanding different workloads and their requirements is crucial for making informed decisions about future-ready data centre design and upgrades. At today's Singapore Cloud and Datacenter Convention, Mingcheng Lim (Country Head, Singapore, STT GDC) took the stage with other experts to discuss key considerations and challenges around this theme. As rack density projections continue to rise, the demand for advanced cooling solutions is increasing, testing the limits of infrastructure capabilities. This underscores the critical importance of strategic planning and innovative designs that leverage the latest technologies, in order to ensure our facilities can meet evolving demands. The panel also discussed the prospects of refurbishing existing data centre facilities to meet future needs, focusing on evaluating cost efficiency, forecasting requirements, and conducting comprehensive risk analyses, particularly for workloads that require increased power and advanced cooling solutions. As we look to the future, our AI-ready data centres will continue to evolve, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and innovative designs, ready to support the next generation of digital transformation.   #STTGDC #EnablingOurDigitalFuture #SGCDC #SijoriWeek Cloud & Datacenter Convention - Global W.Media - Global
