PaxOcean Completes World's First Methanol Dual-Fuel Retrofit for Container Ship PaxOcean is proud to announce a groundbreaking achievement in maritime sustainability: the successful completion of the world's first methanol dual-fuel engine retrofit for a container ship, the MV Eco Umande. This pioneering project at our Zhoushan yard transformed the 1,170 TEU feeder vessel into a more environmentally friendly option. The retrofit included a MAN Energy Solutions engine, a complete methanol fuel system, and essential modifications. The vessel was delivered on 23 June 2024.
