A drawer organiser might seem like an unromantic gift, but not for Nick. For a long time, Nick’s wife felt unimportant in their marriage. She was frustrated by him talking over her and forgetting their wedding anniversary—twice. It wasn’t until Nick’s recent diagnosis that she realised these behaviours weren’t signs of disinterest but symptoms of ADHD. Relationships take work, and supporting a neurodivergent partner adds to the challenge. Nick’s counsellor shares strategies that worked for the couple: https://lnkd.in/dHG4vvWJ

Mental health support starts from our community - to recognise the signs, to triage help, to support practically and emotionally. That’s what SPS Eric Chua and his dedicated team at Queenstown Constituency learnt at our Mental Health First Aid™ (MHFA™) course. What stood out to us was the diversity of the team, from a learning lead to a nurse to a paramedic. No matter your role, we all can contribute to mental health support in our community. The skills learned at MHFA™ apply to everyday life. Thank you SPS Eric Chua and the team at Queenstown Constituency for your commitment to improve the mental wellbeing of your community. Have you heard about the latest wellness trend, Sound Baths? It’s all about using various instruments to create a soothing environment that'll make you feel calmer. But does it really work? Read what our in-house counsellor, Berfont Thum, CMSAC RegCLR and TODAY 's journalist, Nikki Y. has to say about Sound Baths in an article: https://lnkd.in/dGMyMxat “It’s similar to the feeling of a spa treatment or travelling, where our senses undergo a significant change from the everyday routine.” shared Berfont. But, we should still be cautious, especially if you have mental health conditions like severe anxiety. If you do, it’s best to try sound baths under the guidance of a mental health professional!
