Here at HTX, we play just as hard as we work. This was certainly the case yesterday when our Table Tennis Community of Interest organised its first-ever competition, HTX Smash, which saw Xponents from various departments come together for an afternoon of fun, bonding and exercise. In the true spirit of competition, participants gave every match their all and had absolutely no qualms smashing the ball against our senior management Tsan Chan, Yeow Boon NG(黄耀文) and Yeang Tat Chen! #HTXSG #HealthyLifestyle #Culture

The new Self-Help and Rehabilitation E-application (SHARE) empowers ex-offenders to take control of their rehabilitation journey. Developed by HTX, Singapore Prison Service (SPS), and Activate Interactive, SHARE offers electronic resources, job databases, and progress tracking. Its features include goal-setting, learning modules, job searches, and regular check-ins. Jeanie Tay from HTX’s Digital Services Programme Management Centre (DSPMC) shared that the app has received positive feedback for helping supervisees stay motivated. SHARE was awarded the Singapore Digital Initiative of the Year (Correctional Services) at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2024. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gsQEUvY9 #HTXsg #HTScienceandTech #Digital

HTX intern Ignatius Tang, who is currently pursuing a degree in Information Engineering and Media (IEM) from Nanyang Technological University Singapore is not one to be caged by circumstance. As someone intent on forging his own path, he's drawn to role-playing games like Elden Ring where he gets to freely explore new worlds. In fact, he thinks his internship at HTX bears the same traits! From using Wordsmith for AI-driven summaries to advancing Vision LLMs for the Home Team, Ignatius has had the chance to explore different types of AI and broaden his STEM knowledge through tech courses during his stint at HTX. And that’s a wrap for the second eXpresso! session of the year! For this latest townhall, we picked up right where we left off, starting from the HTX Convention which took place in May, before reliving the good vibes of last month’s HTX Family and Sports Day. We also had fun icebreaker games during which Xponents got to know our new Leads better. Our new Xponent Values guidebook was also launched. In light of our new HTxAI movement, Xponents caught a glimpse of the exciting AI product demos that some of our teams are working on, including the new AI assistance application that will boost workplace productivity within HTX. We ended off with a round of Ask Management Anything (AMA) before refuelling with Project Refuel, an initiative that allows Xponents to mingle and connect over a hearty meal. We’ll be back with another shot of eXpresso! after National Day, so stay tuned! #HTXsg

Mobile Crash Barriers (MCBs) are hefty. They need to be in order to protect against vehicle ramming. But this means they have to be deployed by lorry cranes, which require significant height clearance to lift these barriers. Consequently, deploying MCBs in areas with low height clearance is a pain for security officers. After many trials, HTX and the Police Logistics Department (PLD) have developed a simple but elegant solution: A spreader beam with just 4 attachment points that allow for an MCB’s harness to be situated lower, hence reducing height requirements for lorry cranes. This innovation earned the Dare to Try Award at the recent 2024 Home Team Innovation Awards. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gqfKtpgK #HTXsg #HTScienceandTech #Innovation
