We are pleased to welcome our new colleague, Miranda Steen, who has joined Stena RoRo as our new Contract Officer! Miranda is a lawyer specialized in maritime law and has previously worked as Insurance Officer at Stena, where she focused on marine insurance and handling maritime claims. Her experience will be a valuable asset to Stena RoRo. In her new role as Contract Officer, she will manage both internal and external contracts for vessels that are to be purchased, sold, or chartered, as well as contracts for conversions and newbuildings. Miranda explains what attracted her to Stena RoRo: “Law and contracts obviously go hand in hand, and I'm really excited to specialize in these various types of contracts. With my education and background, Stena RoRo felt like the perfect match for me. I’m looking forward to applying my legal knowledge in practice, delving deep into the legal aspects of contract drafting, and, of course, getting to know my new colleagues!” In her free time, Miranda enjoys spending time with her partner and their cat, as well as socializing with friends and family. She describes herself as "a social person who loves going out and try new restaurants in the city, but also enjoys staying at home, knitting while watching a good series." A warm welcome to Stena RoRo!

At Stena RoRo, we are pleased to see the positive impact our vessel, Stena Forwarder, has had since joining the Stena Line fleet in October 2023.  Chartered to Stena Line Irish Sea, Stena Forwarder operates on the Birkenhead-Belfast route, and her contribution has been well-received. Steven Stewart, a dedicated driver for LMK International Transport, has been traveling with Stena Line for over thirty years. With a wealth of experience across various ships and routes, Steven now predominantly travels on Stena Forwarder between Belfast and Liverpool. His insights offer a unique perspective on the importance of comfort and familiarity for drivers. “I’m a creature of habit now, I like the familiar. This is home from home and the crew are an important part of that because sometimes it’s the only friendly face you see on your whole journey. Friendly faces are few and far between when you’re on a road as a lorry driver, and it really makes a difference when you come onboard the ship,” says Steven. As a relatively new addition to the Stena Line fleet, Stena Forwarder has quickly garnered positive feedback for her crew's dedication to creating a welcoming environment. Steven, who previously traveled on the Foreteller, appreciates the crew's efforts in enhancing driver comfort. “The Forwarder is turning into a very good ship because the crew are putting their touch to it. It’s all about comfort, and there’s been a couple of times I’ve said to the crew about little things in the cabin that would make it more comfortable for us drivers and they’ve sorted it out. Just little things to make it feel more secure and private, because sometimes we do have to share cabins. It’s great, they’ll always accommodate.” This feedback underscores the importance of our vessels in supporting the needs of freight drivers. At Stena RoRo, we aim to ensure our ships provide a ‘home from home’ experience. The crew aboard Stena Forwarder exemplifies this commitment, fostering strong, lasting relationships with those who travel with us. We are grateful to see our vessel appreciated and to know that we contribute to a comfortable journey for our travellers and a supportive working environment for the crew.

We are pleased to once again welcome and introduce a new colleague, this time Martin Björkqvist who has been working as a Project Engineer Newbuilding with us for the past two weeks.   Martin Björkqvist specializes in ship electrification and will be a valuable asset to Stena RoRo in our efforts to design and order energy-efficient vessels.   Previously in his career, he operated his own business in electrical installations and automation for the maritime sector, with Stena Line as his largest client, whom he later joined as an employee. At Stena Line, Martin served as an electrical engineer and superintendent for energy conservation. Martin explains: "I have worked in various roles related to our vessels, but always with the same focus. Having worked initially in ship conversions and then onboard as an operator, I have a deep understanding of many perspectives in the electrification process, which provides me and RoRo with many advantages in designing new vessels."  With his extensive and diverse experience in maritime and electrification, Martin looks forward to contributing to RoRo's journey towards an even more modern and energy-efficient fleet.   Outside of work, Martin enjoys spending time outdoors, preferably with his family, consisting of his wife and two children. He is an active individual, having played both football and ice hockey in the past, but now focuses on running when he is not coaching his son's football team or supporting his daughter's equestrian pursuits. A warm welcome to Stena RoRo!

We are pleased to introduce and warmly welcome our new colleague, Linnéa Karlsson, to Stena RoRo! Linnea is working as a Business Controller at Stena RoRo, a role she started two weeks ago and approaches with great drive, a positive attitude and curiosity. Her primary responsibilities include accounting and financial follow-up in various aspects of the company. Linnea brings with her a solid background, including her studies in business economics and experience in various roles, such as a financial assistant at a construction company, customer service at one of Sweden's largest banks, and auditor at a big four company. The opportunity to be part of a company's growth and join an iconic Gothenburg-based company attracted Linnea to Stena RoRo. She looks forward to contributing to Stena RoRo's financial development and hopes to bring fresh ideas to the table. "My first two weeks have been intense but very enjoyable. It's been great meeting and getting to know all my colleagues, learning about our vessels, and of course, immersing myself in the financial aspects," says Linnea. When asked about her favorite project or vessel, she replies, "I haven't quite learned about all the vessels yet, but I find the concept of E-flexers and the vessels very impressive." Linnea has recently moved to a new apartment with her partner and is busy decorating and planting flowers and vegetables when she is not working. We wish her the best of luck and warmly welcome her to Stena!
