🚀 Exciting developments in the ICT industry! NordAmps is proud to be part of Project ARCTIC, a collaborative initiative uniting 36 partners from industry, academia, and leading RTOs. Together, we are establishing a comprehensive European supply chain and developing scalable, reliable, and innovative control infrastructure for cryogenic quantum processors. The primary objective of ARCTIC (Advanced Research on Cryogenic Technologies for Innovative Computing) is to create scalable cryogenic ICT microsystems and control technology for quantum processors. These groundbreaking technologies will have applications across a wide range of fields, from sensing to communication, fostering significant cross-fertilization and strengthening the emerging European ecosystem in cryogenic classical and quantum microsystems. 🌟NordAmps is responsible for demonstrating a direct sampling concept based on a time-interleaved ADC. We will handle the implementation using III-V nanowire switches and bootstrap circuits designed by NordAmps, employing large- and small-signal models available at both room temperature and cryogenic conditions. We will design layouts, simulate performance, and fabricate prototype switches for the sample and hold block of the ADC and the switched capacitors in the DAC. These will utilize high transconductance (>3 ms/µm) InAs/InGaAs MOSFETs on Si substrates, leveraging the epitaxial structures developed through this project. Nano, semi-conductors are high on the agenda, nationally as well as locally. On Thursday, NanoLund the nanolab at Lund University was visited by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and his entourage. The Prime Minister heard presentations by Anders Mikkelsen, Heiner Linke, Vanya Darakchieva and Lars-Erik Wernersson – all of whom emphasised the importance of securing Sweden's expertise and research in semiconductors. "This shows that semiconductors, electronics and microchips are high on the agenda in Sweden as well, and it felt like the prime minister was very interested," said Lars-Erik Wernersson, who presented a draft of a national agenda for semiconductors.
