Wave Power. To Power the planet.
Om oss
CorPower Ocean designs, manufactures and operates wave energy farms for our customers. The wave farm solution have a unique design inspired by the pumping principles of the human heart, allowing it to survive the toughest storms. Advanced control technology makes the wave energy converters oscillate in optimal timing with incoming waves, strongly amplifying power absorption. This enables high power output compared to the size, weight and cost of the equipment The combination of low costs, high capacity factor and an effective maintenance scheme makes wave power a key tool to accelerate the transition to 100% renewables around the world

CorPower Ocean’s modular approach to manufacturing and operations provides a sharp edge to scalability and local economic development in coastal regions what wave farms are deployed. Taking a full life-cycle perspective, the concept embraces use of local supply chains, existing port facilities and small local vessels for O&M. In addition, our ‘mobile factory’ concept allows on-site fabrication, eliminating the need to transport individual composite hulls. This in turn reduces cost, logistical challenges and saves time, while underpinning sustainable local jobs. #WaveEnergy #OceanEnergy #EnergyTransition #OceanEngineering #NetZeroFuture #Manufacturing

$1 billion Marine Energy Bill proposed to scale up US wave energy. CorPower Ocean applauds US Congresswomen Nanette Barragan (California-44) and Suzanne Bonamici (Oregon-01) for the introduction of the Marine Energy Technologies Acceleration Act. This legislation could provide a pivotal force for marine energy commercialisation and industrial development in the United States. Patrik Möller, CEO of CorPower Ocean said: “CorPower is a strong supporter of the Marine Energy Technologies Acceleration Act, as it could jumpstart commercial wave energy deployment in the US. This level of investment is exactly what our industry needs to bring wave energy to a mainstream energy source, benefiting consumers and accelerating the transition to 24/7 clean electricity.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/dfDEmjDh AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles National Hydropower Association The legislation is cosponsored by Representatives Congressman Ed Case (Hawaii), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Kevin Mullin (Calif.), Val Hoyle (Ore.), Troy Carter (La.), Congressman Salud Carbajal (Calif.), and Anne Kuster (NH). #MarineEnergy #WaveEnergy #EnergyTransition #NetZeroFuture #Decarbonisation

Since the start of our journey in 2012, CorPower Ocean has worked to a structured five-stage product development process, involving step-wise verification of survivability, performance, reliability and economics to reach a bankable product. The methodology aims at taking wave energy to a competitive and reliable energy source with the least time, risk and investment. Ultimately, the Power of Structured Development ensures efficient decision-making processes to direct funding to technologies with highest chances of commercial success. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dgWu2krv A framework recommended by IEA Ocean Energy Systems, with input from CorPower Ocean, breaks this development process into a series stages, from concept creation to commercialisation. Wind and waves, hand in hand! Our member ⭐ CorPower Ocean ⭐ believes that co-location is the future 🌬 🌊 CorPower Ocean is on a mission to power the planet with clean electricity from ocean waves. According to them, wave energy represents one of the largest untapped sources of clean energy, currently amounting to a potential of 500-1800GW, more than all of today’s hydro or nuclear capacity. CorPower’s fourth generation wave energy system, the commercial-scale CorPower C4, is operating and exporting power to the grid in Portugal. Haven proven storm survival and efficiency production in regular sea condition, the two key challenges that have historically held back wave energy adoption, CorPower has entered the commercial stage towards a type-certified and bankable technology offering, with a growing customer project pipeline. -Norway has one of the best wave resources in Europe. As the waves are built up out on the Atlantic and not by the local weather system, the different production profile compared to other renewables such as wind gives a great opportunity to build the lowest cost, zero carbon energy system. We strongly believe that co-location is the future, and we look forward working with NOW and its members, says Anders Jansson, Head of Business Development. One of the biggest challenges to transition to a zero-carbon world is to ensure there is clean electricity available at all times, 24/7 – every hour of the year. This is where the consistent power profile of ocean waves offers great value. Adding wave energy to wind and solar brings stability to the clean electricity mix to allow a world powered entirely by renewables. #WaveEnergy #OceanEnergy #EnergyTransformation #NetZeroFuture

German automation firm ifm has been named CorPower Ocean’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ 2023. Essen-based ifm has been a pioneering force in automation and digitalisation technology since its foundation in 1969, specialising in developing and making sensors, controllers, software and systems. During a momentous 12-month period - which saw CorPower Ocean deploying its first commercial scale device in northern Portugal - ifm has strongly contributed to operations, helping reduce time to market for clean, renewable wave energy. “It is with great pleasure that we announce ifm as our Supplier of the Year for 2023. Throughout this period, we worked very closely with ifm to design bespoke components and select the right processes involving sensors, controls and software. This ensured a synchronized approach with CorPower Ocean’s integration and electric team” - CorPower Ocean Senior Procurement & Quality Engineer Thomas Lindahl. CorPower Ocean is advancing wave energy to a similar level floating wind reached a few years ago, on the same Agucadoura site offshore northern Portugal. Following proof of survivability and power production, the world saw a surge in investments that transformed floating wind from a niche to a global market opportunity. Expect wave energy to follow suit, attracting widespread investment and accelerated deployment in coming years. #WaveEnergy #OceanEnergy #EnergyTransformation #NetZeroFuture
