Recently, the Havana Coffee Works team in Auckland had the pleasure of joining forces with Dignan Street Community Garden for a fantastic volunteer day! 🌱💪 This was more than just a day of giving back - it was a reflection of our core values and commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we are a part of.    Our team engaged in a variety of activities, from spreading mulch around fruit trees to creating new regenerative beds for summer squash and cucumbers. A highlight was witnessing our coffee sacks in action - decomposing and teaming with worms, showcasing our dedication to reducing waste and supporting sustainable practices.   Volunteering is an integral part of our culture and values, and we're proud to be extending these efforts across the country in multiple locations. Each opportunity allows us to contribute meaningfully and align our actions with our company's values.   A heartfelt thank you to Luke, Aram, and Ozzy at Dignan Street Community Garden for their leadership and for sharing their invaluable knowledge on soil health and sustainable practices.

Our fantastic Brand Manager Francesca Cistrone and Master Roaster Joseph Stoddart recently made a trip over to Brazil! Their journey took them to Guaxupé the heart of Brazil’s coffee regions. This trip was all about building and strengthening relationships in the Guaxupé coffee community. The dedication and passion for coffee in Guaxupé is so inspiring, and we're thrilled Frankie and Joe can bring their stories and shared experiences back home. Stay tuned for some amazing photos and behind-the-scenes glimpses of Frankie and Joes adventure!

What an amazing start to the year! Havana Coffee Works had the incredible opportunity to partner with two unforgettable events in 2024: Splore Festival and CubaDupa!   At Splore Festival, we immersed ourselves in three days of music, art, and sustainability initiatives. It was inspiring to be part of a community that values innovation and environmental responsibility as much as we do. From connecting with fellow festival-goers to showcasing our products/services, every moment was filled with magic and meaning.   Then came CubaDupa, where the streets of Wellington came alive with diversity, creativity, and sheer joy! As a partner, we were honored to contribute to the vibrant tapestry of this celebration. From collaborating with local artists to engaging with attendees, we cherished every opportunity to connect and collaborate.   We're immensely grateful to both Splore Festival and CubaDupa for welcoming us into their fold and allowing us to be part of something truly special. To everyone who joined us on this journey, thank you for your support and enthusiasm.

Last Friday night, we had the honour of celebrating alongside Haylee-Chanel Simeon, the exceptional winner of the "Bountiful Table Award" at the NZI Rural Women New Zealand | Ngā Wāhine Taiwhenua o Aotearoa Business Awards. Pictured below with Hayley is Bob Weatherford, our dynamic Business Development Executive, and Olivia Hamilton, our talented Account Executive. These two play a crucial role in fostering partnerships and driving growth. Our journey with Rural Women New Zealand began in 2020 when Havana proudly sponsored coffee as part of the Mighty Morning Tea Shout - an initiative to express gratitude to essential workers during the initial lockdown. Since then, we have been a dedicated award sponsor, sharing in the success of Bountiful Table winners each year. This year, we extended support to RWNZ's cyclone recovery efforts by providing mini coffee packs. These packs were included in care packages sent to rural families and distributed to hardworking volunteers making a difference in their communities. The "Bountiful Table Award" holds special significance for us, as it celebrates businesses that harness the diverse and unique natural resources in Aotearoa to deliver exceptional food and beverages. #HavanaCoffeeWorks #RWNZBusinessAwards #BountifulTableAward

We're thrilled to announce that Havana Coffee Works, alongside Again Again, has been recognised as a finalist in two prestigious categories at the 2023 Sustainable Business Network Awards, thanks to our Ground for Good initiative. In 2022, we proudly partnered with Again Again to revolutionise the takeaway coffee experience, making it as easy as borrowing a library book through our Ground for Good project. Every cup returned through Ground for Good contributes to a greener planet. While we didn't secure a win in our category this time, we're truly thrilled to be finalists. Congratulations to all the winners and fellow finalists who share our dedication to creating a better world through sustainable business practices! #sustainablebusiness #havanacoffeeworks #sustainablecoffee #sustainablebusinessnetwork #againagain #groundforgood
