Our Gallagher Security team turned Auckland’s Eden Park orange for our #SecurityShowcase2024 last month. Over 300 industry professionals attended, making it the largest-attended event ever hosted by Gallagher anywhere in the world. With the theme of innovation and partnership, the event gave attendees the chance to connect in person and experience real-world demonstrations of the benefits unlocked through our solutions and integrations with technology partners. Events like this take a huge amount of hard work, so a big shout out to all those in #TeamGallagher involved in making it a success, in particular Samantha Gibbons, Ashley Williams, John Dumelow, Sanjay Reddy, and Hennie Lombard.

Adelaine Orpin, Gallagher Security's Director of Sales for US West & Canada, says it’s an exciting time in the Americas.    “The brand awareness for Gallagher in the Americas has grown. People are recognising who we are. The market is going from ‘Gallagher who?’ to ‘Gallagher, that’s who.’”   Adelaine believes the Americas’ strength lies in collaboration, connection, and team unity.   “We recently started holding Quarterly Business Reviews where we all come together to reconnect, share successes, and plan for the next quarter. Our latest one was in June and the theme was #OneTeam. Even though we're a large group of individuals across different locations, we’re one team."   “Everyone from sales and leadership to order management, tech support, and the training team was there. We know that creating a compelling environment for success begins with enabling great leadership. Our Performance Focused Leadership Programme continues to grow great leaders across Gallagher. Wayne Lipinski, Operations Reporting and Insights Manager, recently completed the programme and says it was a catalyst for developing his leadership. "The programme gave me a reminder of the skills and tools in my leadership toolbox, and added a few more to it. My cohort was really diverse, which was really valuable for group discussions - we were able to share and listen to many different ideas, perspectives, and experiences, which really helped me improve my understanding of leadership." Jacques Jacobs, Information Security Manager, also recently completed the programme and recommends it to fellow leaders at Gallagher. “I’ve gained a lot of insights that I’ve shared with my team, especially regarding setting expectations. Having the opportunity to talk to other leaders and finding out they have similar challenges to me was really valuable. The UK-based Gallagher Security team are excited to unveil “The Hub” at our site in Warwick, a new interactive customer demo space, providing a fully immersive experience of our security solutions suite. The space has been designed to enable customers, channel partners, tech partners, and consultants to come and immerse themselves in everything about Gallagher Security – our company, our culture, our solutions, and most importantly, our integrations. Sales Manager, Gordon Swallow is excited to connect with more customers. “Gallagher has always prided itself on how our Command Centre solution is a platform for integration. Increasingly we became aware that to really showcase this we needed our own state-of-the-art space to show what we can do, and the idea for The Hub was born!" Ian McGrath, Group Chief Operations Officer, says his approach to leadership has always been to learn quickly and adapt, realise what core skills he can rely on, and identify what he needs to develop to deliver on any opportunity.    “I’ve never been satisfied with sitting still for too long. Increasingly as I get older, I’ve learned I enjoy the opportunity of wondering what’s around the corner, not in the sense of hopping from one thing to next, but more thinking what else could we do, how could we improve, and how can I be part of influencing that.    “Opportunities normally arise when you focus all your energy on trying to do a great job and taking a growth mindset to the evolving situations around you.”    The last 12 months have given plenty of opportunity to foster a growth mindset, and at the same time, practice self-care.       “I have learned many things in the past few months and often reflect on what has gone well, what I might have done differently and how committed we are to keep improving.   “When things get super busy, I can most definitely be guilty of not maintaining balance in my life. So, I try to keep perspective about what’s important and what isn’t and remind myself what fills my cup.  

Thrilled to see Rodney Young, our Group Risk and Assurance Manager, awarded Risk Professional of the Year at the 2024 RiskNZ Awards of Excellence! 🎉 Rodney was recognised for his sustained risk leadership and contribution in making a significant difference to Gallagher, our customers, and the wider risk management industry. The judges looked for effective risk management leadership, strategic and operational thinking, excellent communication skills, the ability to demonstrate positive impacts, and being respected by peers. Congratulations Rodney! 👏

We know that wellbeing is at the heart of protecting what matters most. Today, we are celebrating Self-Care Day to raise awareness about the small actions, habits, and lifestyle choices we make to support our wellbeing. This symbolic day - 24 July - was chosen by the World Health Organization because self-care can be practiced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Business Improvement Analyst, Taniya Kemara, who was the face of Gallagher at our Customer Support desk, said many customers were eager to visit our team and share their own reasons for consistently choosing Gallagher. "It’s easier for customers to love a brand when the brand loves you back, and Fieldays was an all-in-one experience of how Gallagher does this year in and out. I think creativity and inspiration are encouraged by way of human interaction, and at Fieldays, between our colleagues & our customers, I received just that."
