Our client, a leading global logistics company, is looking for a new Contract Logistics Director to oversee all activities of their facility in Norway. This pivotal role involves full responsibility for staffing, work distribution, and oversight of operations. As a Director you will regularly review financial, sales, and operational reports, including monthly P&L statements. Additionally, this role is crucial for workforce planning and development, ensuring employee performance aligns with the company's strategic objectives and will also play a key role in shaping the future direction of the organization. You will be an ideal candidate for this position if you are hands-on, highly collaborative, and adept at navigating complex environments to deliver outstanding results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review reporting and business intelligence tools daily to monitor performance, cost management, and financial operations.
  • Manage the subsidiary's operations and administration to meet company goals.
  • Develop country-specific objectives, strategies, policies, and operating plans.
  • Implement strategic plans to ensure revenue, productivity, and profitability targets are met.
  • Establish and evaluate performance standards for growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with regional management to enhance operating effectiveness and financial performance.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and ISO procedures.
  • Ensure uniform interpretation and administration of corporate policies by subordinates.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development of staff skills.
  • Maintain the highest standards of customer service for both internal and external customers.
  • Foster a teamwork-oriented environment.
  • Manage client metrics related to quality, productivity, and performance.
  • Support the business with Contract Logistics Solutions for new and existing customers.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Logistics or related field preferred.
  • Experience with EDI/Cargo Wise systems preferred.
  • Extensive management experience with P&L responsibility.
  • Strong background in Contract Logistics and E-commerce.
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and derive insights from various sources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Open to new approaches and alternative methods to achieve results despite setbacks.
  • Understands and applies commercial and financial principles to improve performance.
  • Team player capable of thriving in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of the freight forwarding and logistics industries.
  • Skilled negotiator and problem solver
