"The US has rolled out AI-powered vending machines that dispense bullets to customers aged over 21 who have valid IDs." But do the machines create more problems than they solve? Our resident cybersecurity expert, Andrew Whaley, shared his insight with Business Insider. It’s the summer of Snowblind, an Android banking trojan. Snowblind is an advanced malware which also introduces an insidious new attack vector – an abuse of the Linux kernel feature seccomp. Android uses seccomp to sandbox apps and prevent them from making system calls. Snowblind essentially blinds the OS to what the malware is doing, subverting security checks to compromise apps.
