Hope you can join us! 📣 The 'Bridge' project sought to develop a new approach to mapping water-related risks by combining current and future basin water risks, such as water scarcity, droughts, or floods, with water-related performance of companies. This includes how companies manage or impact water resources, including how they use, conserve, or pollute water. By applying more location-specific tools and conducting a systems analysis of cascading risks, the study aims to bridge the gap between location-specific risks and portfolio-wide risks. Today we announced that Wilbert Ouburg, currently Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Nationale-Nederlanden Life and Pensions, will be appointed as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and member of the Management Board of NN Group as of 1 October 2024, subject to approval by the Dutch Central Bank. Wilbert succeeds Bernhard Kaufmann who will step down as of 30 September 2024. Read more in the press release. https://lnkd.in/gWfw76c3

Our first half 2024 results, released today, showed a strong commercial performance, with good sales momentum in our European markets, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. Our CEO David Knibbe joined CNBC and explained how demand for protection products in the region remains high. Last month, we organised the fourth edition of our NN Volunteer week. This week is part of our community investment programme and ambition to support the financial, physical and/or mental well-being of one million people by 2025. During this week, our colleagues volunteered at various organisations to bring us one step closer to our target and have a chance to experience the importance of volunteer work at the same time. There were many activities to choose from in all our markets and we would like to highlight some of these to share part of our impact. In the Netherlands, colleagues could volunteer together with Stichting Present, support the vitality of elderly with Stichting Nationaal Ouderenfonds or help ensure that children growing up in poverty have a carefree birthday with Jarige Job Foundation. While in Spain, colleagues volunteered at Fundación A LA PAR to complete an environmental workshop together with neurodiverse youth. They learnt how to collaborate and support each other throughout the activity, ultimately creating a positive impact on the environment and on each other. In the Czech Republic, colleagues volunteered at Family Shelter Horní Počernice, Prague, Czech republic / Azylový dům SKP HOPO and rolled up their sleeves to help paint living quarters for people in need. In total, 2,106 of our colleagues volunteered and they spent 8,308 hours making a positive impact in their local communities.   Our sport enthusiasts joined the 5-day NN Charity Run to raise money for local charities. In total, 1,058 colleagues joined and together they logged 20,422 kilometres. 💪🏼👟   Together we can make a positive impact!   #NNVolunteerWeek #YourCommunityMatters

NN Group has joined the Forum for Insurance Transition to Net Zero (FIT) as successor of the Net-Zero Insurance Alliance (NZIA). The new dialogue and multi-stakeholder forum aims to support the necessary acceleration and scaling up of voluntary climate action by the insurance industry and key stakeholders. NN Group has joined FIT as a founding member because we believe collaboration and knowledge sharing with key players in the international (re)insurance market continues to be essential for the financial industry to reach its net-zero targets. https://lnkd.in/ecFpVCFb

Today, NN Group (NN) announces it has entered into a four-year partnership agreement with Sports Organisation Le Champion to become title sponsor of the Dam tot Damloop, a well-known running event in the Netherlands. NN has been a supporter of all runners since 2015, which aligns with NN’s brand ambition to positively impact society and encourage healthy behaviour. By supporting various running events in Europe and Japan, we aim to help runners at all levels achieve their goals. Mariëlle Krouwel, Chief Marketing Officer of NN Group shares: ‘This new partnership enables NN to start a new phase in supporting all runners.
