In terms of energy needs, Nigeria, the country with the largest black population, is going through a critical period. The rapidly increasing demands from both the oil and non-oil energy sectors have proven to be too much for us to handle. Undoubtedly, there has been a notable push to investigate further energy alternatives, namely off-grid and alternative energy sources like solar power, compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered vehicles, and renewable energy sources like renewable energy sources. Yet, given the rising need for energy, the future of Nigeria's energy sector is uncertain. Nigeria, the most populous black nation is experiencing a crucial time in terms of energy needs. We have not been able to significantly meet the skyrocketing demands both from the oil and non-oil energy sectors. Admittedly, there has been significant drive to explore more energy options, particularly the off-grid as well as alternative energy sources, which include the use of renewable energy sources, solar, and compressed natural gas (CNG) powered automobiles. Nonetheless, the future of Nigeria’s energy sector looks unsecured amidst increasing energy demands.
