I was honoured to represent Eja-Ice Nigeria Limited at the fireside chat with Tony Fadell and a few other start-ups organized by UNDP here in Lagos. It was Tony Fadell's first time in Nigeria and the experience was a great one. We, the start-ups had the opportunity to ask questions about how he was able to manage challenges and he went all out to supply answers based on his experience, the chat lasted for almost an hour and every seconds spent in that room was worthwhile. Here are my key takeaways..... Start with a clear vision: Tony emphasizes the importance of having a clear vision for your product or project from the very beginning. Focus on the user experience: He stresses the significance of understanding and prioritizing the user's needs and preferences throughout the design process. Iterate and iterate: Fadell advocates for a process of continuous iteration and refinement, allowing room for experimentation and improvement. Embrace failure: He encourages embracing failure as a natural part of the innovation process and learning from mistakes along the way. Build a great team: Tony emphasizes the importance of assembling a talented and diverse team with complementary skills and perspectives. Stay adaptable: He underscores the need to stay flexible and adaptable in the face of changing circumstances and market dynamics. Lastly, Learn how and when to say Yes and No, it would help you identify who your customers are and how to serve their needs. Appreciation goes to my indefatigable CEO Engineer Yusuf Oladipupo B. for this opportunity, I made the best use of the opportunity. Tony Fadell thank you for your time, for the shared lessons and for the book. UNDP thank you for organizing this, it was impactful. #Entrepreneurs #Sustainability

Food safety in logistics is a critical aspect of the food supply chain that ensures the integrity and quality of food products from production to consumption. Below are some key considerations and practices for maintaining food safety in logistics: Temperature Control: Proper temperature control is essential for preventing the growth of pathogens and maintaining the quality of perishable food products. Utilize refrigerated trucks, cold storage facilities, and temperature monitoring devices to ensure that food remains within safe temperature ranges during transportation and storage. This is our core competency at Eja-Ice, we will be glad to support your business in achieving your objectives. Hygiene and Sanitation: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the logistics process, including in transportation vehicles, storage facilities, and handling equipment. Implement regular cleaning and sanitization protocols to prevent cross-contamination and the spread of foodborne pathogens. Packaging and Handling: Use appropriate packaging materials and handling practices to protect food products from contamination, physical damage, and exposure to environmental hazards. Ensure that packaging is durable, leak-proof, and labeled with relevant information such as expiration dates, batch numbers, and handling instructions. Traceability and Documentation: Implement robust traceability systems that enable the tracking and monitoring of food products throughout the supply chain. Maintain accurate records of product origins, transportation routes, storage conditions, and handling procedures to facilitate timely recall and investigation in the event of food safety incidents. Compliance with Regulations: Stay informed about food safety regulations and standards established by regulatory authorities such as the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) or equivalent agencies in your region. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations regarding food transportation, storage, labelling, and handling practices. All the above are essential practices at Eja-Ice as we prioritize food safety in our logistics operations, we contribute to safeguarding public health, preserving product integrity, and maintaining consumer confidence in the safety and reliability of the food supply chain. Eja-Ice participated in 3 month long Agribusiness program by Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and Nigeria Climate Innovation Center . The program was enlightening on the subject of nutrition and food safety. Our CEO, Yusuf Oladipupo B. and Operations Lead Barakat Badmus, joined the program training and customer discovery program in Oyo State, where we met with Vitamin A Cassava producers and discussed how temperature sensitive their produce is and how Eja-Ice solar powered cooling tricycles could help them get their produce to market in the right temperature and conditions. Grateful 🙏 for the learning opportunities as this further strengthens our role as market enablers to ensure that food safety standards are adhered to across the value chain and that the nutrition in the food be sustained for healthy consumption. Congratulations to all participants and winners of the business challenge. We are super pumped up for 2024. We no go gree for anybody wey no adhere to food safety! 😆
