Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd (TNGSB) recently hosted a sharing session with students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TARUMT) for an enriching session focused on our HR practices, contributing to their research on Organisational Development & Change. Our HR team provided valuable insights into our mentoring and coaching programs, selection criteria, and the challenges we navigate in the industry. The session covered the full HR lifecycle, from hiring to retirement, with a spotlight on our innovative practices.   The sharing session explored into the use of data analytics in recruitment, our active advocacy for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and the implementation of wellness programs to support employee well-being. Our team also highlighted recent developments and innovative approaches that have significantly impacted our HR processes.   The students found the session highly informative and appreciated the open discussions, which offered them a valuable connection between academic theory and practical scenarios. It's inspiring to see their enthusiasm for HR as a potential career path. TNGSB is always proud to support educational initiatives that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experiences, aligning educational programs with industry needs.

Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming a remarkable young fan to our Bangsar South Head Office—nine-year-old Shahstrinath Aalagan Renganathan, whose passion for technology and curiosity about cashless payments caught our attention through a heartfelt email from his family. Shahstrinath’s visit was filled with excitement and discovery as he and his family toured our offices, delving into the journey of Touch ‘n Go. Our team provided an enriching experience, showcasing our products and services, including an interactive simulator and a live demonstration of the seamless integration of Touch ‘n Go RFID with the eWallet for toll payments.   It was an honour to have our Touch 'n Go CEO, Praba Sangarajoo, and TNG Digital CEO, Alan Ni, along with their senior management teams, personally welcome Shahstrinath and his family.   This memorable day highlighted our dedication to fostering innovation and encouraging young minds to explore the world of technology. Shahstrinath's enthusiasm and curiosity remind us of the boundless potential within the younger generation.   We're extremely honoured that Touch ‘n Go Group was awarded ‘Company of the Year’ under the fintech category at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2024. The award serves as recognition of the Group’s commitment in driving neuro-inclusivity in the workplace and uplifting the neurodivergent and differently-abled community through volunteering and financial aid. Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd Chief Corporate Development Officer, Joy Deng L. received the award on behalf of the Group.   At the heart of our sustainability efforts is our commitment to “Treating People Fairly” where we believe everyone deserves a winning chance in life, despite our differences. We're committed to cultivating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive, and hiring individuals on the spectrum is a key part of this commitment. We currently work with Yayasan GAMUDA’s Enabling Academy and Infinite Minds Academy to provide employment opportunities for talents on the autism spectrum.   Beyond the workplace, we support neurodivergent and differently-abled communities through various community outreach programmes. These include contributing towards United Voice's various projects which help their members earn a meaningful living, as well as collaborating with IDEAS Autism Centre for a pre-vocational programme aimed at helping underserved youth on the spectrum attain a sustainable livelihood.   We also actively encourage our employees to engage in volunteering activities alongside NGO partners dedicated to empowering the neurodivergent and differently-abled community.   In 2023, we channelled close to RM1 million towards community outreach efforts and support for the neurodivergent and differently-abled community. Throughout the year, 639 employees from Touch ‘n Go Group actively volunteered in various CSR efforts, contributing a total of 2,259 volunteer hours.   A massive shoutout to our incredible team whose passion and dedication have been instrumental in creating an inclusive workplace where diversity truly shines, including welcoming individuals on the spectrum. We were honored to host delegations from the Central Bank of Kenya and the Bank of the Lao PDR during their study visit to Malaysia. Partnering with Bank Negara Malaysia and Touch 'n Go Group, we provided a comprehensive exploration of Malaysia’s payment landscape. Led by Alan Ni, the team showcased Malaysia's innovations, best practices, and advancements in digital payment systems. Our goal was to share valuable insights and strategies that could be adapted for implementation in their respective countries. This exchange was a significant step in global financial collaboration, and we’re excited to see how these insights will influence the future of payment systems in Kenya and Laos.
