Mr Sanjiv Puri, Chairman ITC shares his thoughts on the occasion of #NationalNutritionMonth 2024. #EnduringValue #TheITCWay
As we mark #NationalNutritionMonth this September, I would like to commend the Government of India for its visionary efforts in driving the Nation’s health & nutrition agenda. Recognising malnutrition as one of India's serious developmental challenges, the Government of India established Mission Poshan 2.0 to contribute to the UN SDGs. Ensuring access to appropriate and affordable nutrition is a mission that resonates deeply with me and with ITC. Our mission for nutrition in ITC has been one of collaboration, innovation, & care spanning across the value chain from farm to fork & to communities in our catchments. The journey, at ITC, to deliver nutritious, high-quality products begins long before it reaches the table—it starts in the farms. That's why we place a strong emphasis in building innovative Agri value chains that help improve climate adaptability & enable nutrition & food security. ITC has adapted key principles of ‘regenerative agriculture’ that lead to the development of healthy soils & are capable of producing high-quality, nutrient-dense food. To make our products future-ready, cutting-edge research is being done at ITC Life Sciences & Technology Centre to deliver differentiated & nutritionally stronger products, offering sustainable food choices in emerging domains like healthy ageing, gut health & diabetes. As part of the larger ITC Next vision, we launched the 'Help India Eat Better' initiative built on a 4-pillar strategic model - development of a 'good-for-you' product portfolio; implementation of sustainable food systems; catalysing support to building healthy societies; enhancing consumer & employee awareness. Furthering this initiative, 'ITC Mission Millets’ was launched to develop an innovative range of millet-based products across categories. Today, ITC has a diverse portfolio of 'good-for-you' offerings anchored by flagship brands like Aashirvaad, Sunfeast, Bingo!, YiPPee! & others covering staples, biscuits, snacks, noodles & so on. Recognising the evolving & differentiated health priorities of the 45+ age group, we recently launched 'Right Shift', a new brand that aims to provide the perfect mix of healthy & tasty offerings. Through our extensive social initiatives, we have the privilege of working closely with communities, particularly supporting rural women & children where the need for nutrition is most critical. Whether it’s through the ‘mother & child health nutrition’ programme or Project Samposhan focusing on nutrition & anaemia among women & girls, our efforts are making a difference. These initiatives touch the lives of 1.5 million+ beneficiaries. We are humbled to contribute to this important endeavour, and remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting India's nutrition priorities. Together, with the Government’s leadership and our collective will, I believe we can forge a healthier, more nourished future for all. #ITC #NationFirst #SabSaathBadhein

I have made the Right Shift ! Happy to announce ITC’s strategic move into a pivotal yet often overlooked market segment - the 45+ age group. They're actively seeking products that align with their health goals but often struggle to find suitable options. At ITC, we've recognized not just the challenge, but the immense opportunity this presents. Our new brand, Right Shift, represents a carefully considered response to evolving demographic trends and consumer needs. Right Shift bridges this gap, offering nutrition without compromise on taste or quality. Right Shift isn't merely a product line; it's a comprehensive approach to nutrition for mature adults. We've started with a range including upma, oats, cookies, and atta - all crafted with natural ingredients to support digestion, strength and energy in our later years. Please feel free to suggest the range that you would like us to add https://lnkd.in/g6jENegm #itcfoods #foodcompany #itccorporate #timesofindia #maketherightshift #proaging #nutrition
