Yesterday, Monika Orlowska and Sachin Jangam, CFA represented Infosys at the Powering Tomorrow symposium, on the topic of “The Role of the Private Sector in Technological Advancements in Sustainable Energy Ecosystems." It was a fantastic opportunity to interact with brilliant students and brainstorm concrete proposals from the government, academia, and private sector on making the world a better place!
Managing Partner Infosys Consulting, EMEA Consumer, Retail and Logistics / France, Switzerland Léman region and Poland
I was honored to present at Oxford University during the « Powering Tomorrow »symposium on July 30. This exclusive event, sponsored and attended by the Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Royal Highness Prince Khaled bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, Ministry of Education, and Prof Amal Fatani, Saudi Cultural Attaché at the UK, was an incredible platform for discussing transformative energy solutions. Sachin Jangam, CFA and I had the privilege to proudly represent Infosys and present on a very exciting topic of “The Role of the Private Sector in Technological Advancements in Sustainable Energy Ecosystems.” We highlighted how the private sector’s innovation, investment, and expertise are crucial in achieving SDG 7, ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. For example, companies in the retail sector like Apple and Google have pioneered renewable energy projects, showcasing how strategic investments can lead to sustainable operations while creating jobs and fostering economic benefits for local communities. Digitalization plays a pivotal role in this transition. By leveraging technologies such as AI, predictive intelligence, digital twins, and blockchain, companies can optimize energy efficiency, ensure traceability, and enhance smart power grids. These innovations drive down costs and pave the way for smarter cities and sustainable infrastructures. Notable solutions include smart cities and buildings, renewable power, IoT-enabled smart grids, heat recovery solutions, and more. We also discussed inspiring examples from the private sector, including companies like Reliance, Walmart, Amazon, Nike, and Target, which have set ambitious goals for renewable energy adoption. These companies are leading the way in integrating sustainable practices into their operations, demonstrating the power of private sector initiatives in the global energy transition. The symposium, launched by charismatic Prof. Amal Fatani of the Cultural Bureau at the Saudi Embassy in the UK, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, focused on energy transition, carbon capture technologies, and digitalisation in future energy systems. It was a fantastic opportunity to interact with brilliant students and brainstorm concrete proposals from the government, academia, and private sector on making the world a better place. #Powering_tomorrow #Saudi_vision_2030 #energy #Infosys #InfosysConsulting
