Exciting news! I am thrilled to announce that our project in collaboration with Dehat Uthan Cultural Society “Mera Aas Pados” has secured funding from the India Foundation for the Arts ! 🎉 “Mera Aas Pados” is a practice-based research initiative undertaken by a low-fee private primary school in South Delhi. The project aims to empower students to explore, write, and illustrate their surroundings, bridging the identity gap often experienced by immigrants in the city. By integrating elements of Hindi and English language subjects, we seek to create a more meaningful connection between theoretical knowledge and real-life encounters. We have planned a series of workshops, including co-design sessions with teachers, researchers, and arts theme experts, as well as art-based exercises for students. The expected outcomes include an exhibition showcasing visual and tangible representations of our students’ surroundings. We are eager to kickstart this journey with an orientation presentation conducted by one of our esteemed teachers. This session will lay down the groundwork for what promises to be an enriching learning experience for all involved. Stay tuned for more updates!
