  • Did you know that one of the primary challenges in treating malaria is ensuring consistent adherence to medication regimens by patients? Without continuous reminders and follow-ups, patients may struggle to complete their full course of treatment, which is crucial for effective recovery. Recognising this challenge from the start, our EMBED program places a strong emphasis on the importance of adherence to treatment plans.   Our Behavior Change Communication Facilitators (BCCFs) have taken on the vital role of ensuring that malaria patients not only receive their medication but also complete the entire treatment course. Their dedication has resulted in improved recovery rates and a decreased risk of malaria resurgence in the communities they serve. These unsung heroes work tirelessly to provide the necessary care and support for full recovery, embodying the EMBED program's principles of practical solutions and community engagement.   [Our Project EMBED, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s National Centre for Vector-borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC), has focused on the elimination of vector-borne diseases across Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra in India. Through this programme, we've engaged in behaviour change programs, community outreach, and technical support initiatives to combat vector-borne diseases effectively. Our team in Latin America celebrated a decade of spreading warmth and hope! This year marks the 10th anniversary of our "I warm you up" campaign. Over the past decade, our team has been dedicated to donating food and warm clothes to the homeless and the underprivileged. It’s been our way of giving back and helping those who most need it. Our teammates have been at the heart of this campaign, gathering donations every year, and meticulously preparing and counting each item. This year's campaign holds special significance as it is the first since we introduced Presente - our community affairs program focused on doing good within the communities we work in. Here's a glimpse! Antonietta García Luraschi Leticia Cammarata

  • We are all about reducing our environmental footprint through innovative solutions. In 2023, we reduced 573 tons of waste with smart packaging designs and collecting around 22 tons of waste through our collaboration with the Indonesian Recycle Packaging Organisation and establishing a ‘Godrej Kebaikan Bersama’ waste bank.   This eco-friendly push aligns with the Indonesian Government's 2020 mandate requiring all manufacturing companies to have a waste roadmap as part of a plan to reduce waste in Indonesia by 30% by 2029. GCPL was on board early, creating and reporting our waste roadmap to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry since 2020.   Fast forward to 2024, and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry team paid a visit to our waste bank to verify our waste roadmap report. Out of about 150 registered company accounts, GCPL stands out as one of the 16 with reported and verified waste figures. With this commitment, we're not just talking about sustainability; we're making it happen and inspiring our teams to join this effort.   Rajesh Sethuraman Abhinav D. Atul Tiwari Basuki B. • Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at GCPL. After over a decade of dedicated R&D, our team developed our newest innovation Goodknight Flash liquid vapouriser with Renofluthrin – India’s first indigenously developed and patented mosquito repellent molecule. This groundbreaking molecule powers the most effective liquid vapouriser formulation for mosquito control, ensuring protection like never before. Approved by the Central Insecticide Board and Registration Committee (CIB&RC), it guarantees unparalleled efficacy and safety. Priced at just INR 100 for the complete pack, including the refill and vapouriser machine, and with refills available at just INR 85 each, it is accessible to consumers in small urban cities, towns, and rural areas across the country, making mosquito repellents more affordable and widespread. Here's why we love it: 📌 2x more effective against mosquitoes than any other product on the market 📌 GCPL holds exclusive usage rights in India till the medium term 📌 Works for 2 hours even after being switched off 📌 Affordable pricing at just INR 100 for the complete pack, INR 85 for refills

  • At GCPL, we are committed to providing equal opportunities and fostering a supportive work environment for everyone. As part of our efforts to create a more inclusive and accessible workplace, our team recently conducted a hiring drive for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) for our upcoming Greenfield plant in Tamil Nadu (India) in partnership with Atypical Advantage. This event saw participation from over 40 enthusiastic and talented candidates. Their talent and skills are a testament to the untapped potential within the PwD community, and we are thrilled to be able to make offers to many of these individuals for various roles across our factory. • Did you know that every decade or so, new molecules are needed in mosquito repellents to enhance efficacy? But, for over 15 years there hasn’t been any significant innovation in this field, leading many in India to use highly potent and often illegal repellent formats like incense sticks. We tapped into this consumer need and spent the last 10 years in R&D, leading to the development of ‘Renofluthrin’—India’s first indigenously developed and patented molecule. This molecule powers the most effective liquid vapouriser formulation for mosquito control, with GCPL holding exclusive usage rights in India until the medium term. Renofluthrin is twice as effective as any other registered liquid vapouriser in India and has received approval from the Central Insecticide Board and Registration Committee (CIB&RC), ensuring its unparalleled efficacy and safety. Commenting on the launch of this molecule, Sudhir Sitapati, our MD & CEO, said, “With a 127-year legacy of innovation, Godrej has introduced many homegrown innovations in India. Renofluthrin is India’s first indigenously developed mosquito repellent molecule which will deter people from using products with illegal molecules. This innovation makes India self-reliant as now we don’t have to import molecules from international markets. Renofluthrin is effective against the most founded mosquito species such as Anopheles, Aedes and Culex, among others. While Renofluthrin will be in India for now, we foresee great potential for this molecule in international markets where we operate.” Here's a glimpse of the launch event!

  • Our #ProjectEMBED campaign is revolutionising public health by using data to enhance disease detection and safeguard communities. We've cracked the code for spotting infections, especially in previously unscreened areas.   At the heart of this success are our amazing community health heroes! They form the backbone of our fight against vector-borne diseases. Here’s how each group contributes:   📌 Domestic Breeding Checkers (DBCs): Identify mosquito breeding grounds before they become a health threat and revisit homes to make anti-mosquito measures a daily routine 📌 Behaviour Change Communication Facilitators (BCCFs): Turn knowledge into action through effective communication 📌 ASHA Workers: Spread prevention in communities and strengthen rural health by reinforcing health education and disease prevention through follow-up visits 📌 Volunteers: Dedicate their time to spreading awareness, organising clean-up drives, and supporting the EMBED campaign in any way possible 📌 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs): Ensure maternal and child health advice becomes part of daily life, protecting future generations   Follow-up is more than a step in public health - it's a vital strategy that empowers, sustains, and transforms. It ensures interventions become habits and information turns into action. Our frontline heroes bridge the gap between initial intervention and lasting health outcomes. These persistent efforts prove that follow-up turns health initiatives into enduring successes, transforming the vision of a healthier future into reality. • At GCPL, we are deeply committed to supporting our teammates through every stage of their lives. Our Maternity Leave policy in Indonesia is a testament to this commitment, offering 6 months of paid leave—well beyond the government mandate. Our policy also includes flexible working hours, empowering young mothers to balance their professional and personal roles effortlessly. Rajesh Sethuraman, Business Head - Indonesia, and Abhinav D., Marketing Director - Indonesia, along with the Marketing and cross-functional teams, recently welcomed back two new mothers with a heartfelt celebration as they returned to work after their 6-month maternity leave. Here’s what they had to share about their experience: "During the 6 months of maternity leave, I was able to focus on taking care of my newborn and provide exclusive breastfeeding for the entire period. I was unable to do this with my first child because my previous company only offered the government-regulated 3 months of maternity leave." - Neng Gita Permatasari, Brand Manager – Proclin "Having 6 months of maternity leave gave me the confidence to take leave early, and it turned out to be a decision I do not regret, especially since my first child was born one week earlier than expected. During my leave, I was able to focus on caring for my children without any disturbances from colleagues. The flexible working hours have been extremely beneficial, and the freedom to work from anywhere, coupled with the understanding and support from my team leaders, has made my return to work a positive experience." - Nathaya Hadiputri, Brand Manager - NYU Here’s a glimpse of the celebrations!
