One quick Google search can't replace real experience... During a phone interview, it was clear the candidate was googling answers. The ambient noise would cut off, then he'd start reading from the top results. Not a great look. 😬 Nuira, Maureen, and Raquel weighed in: "With tools like ChatGPT, it's easy to hear people typing away during screen calls. But basic experience questions shouldn't require Google." "Preparedness is key, but honesty is crucial. Faking it won't get you far in an interview." Key takeaway? Honesty + Preparation = Successful Interview

🚨One simple timing tweak could boost your interview etiquette... Let us explain: Arriving too early for an interview can be just as problematic as being late. Maura and Kate reacted to a tale about a candidate who showed up 40 minutes early and insisted on waiting in a cramped office while making phone calls. 🤦 The core issue? Over-eagerness that borders on disrespect for the office space. A better approach would be: ‘Arrive 10-15 minutes early to get acclimated but respect the company’s space and schedule.’ Kate emphasises the need for punctuality without overstepping, especially in environments like manufacturing sites where security and sign-in are involved. They appreciate preparedness. Almost every hiring manager does. But to balance keenness with respect, understand the interview setting and its constraints. If ‘making a good first impression’ is your goal, Lead with it—just ensure it's thoughtful and considerate.👌

One powerful question can transform an interview… Here’s why: Dwight’s response in 'The Office' wasn't just about answering a question; it was about showcasing his ability to prioritise and address concerns head-on. Maura and Kate advocate for interviews that assess skills and allow candidates to demonstrate their capabilities fully. 🔑 Showcase Your Skills: Every answer should reflect your expertise and readiness to tackle job challenges. 🔑 Substance Over Surface: While maintaining a friendly tone, ensure the conversation delves deep enough to reveal true competence and fit. Key tip? Depth + Demonstrated Skills = Standout Candidate. Balance professionalism with the opportunity to highlight your strengths, ensuring you leave a lasting impression. Ever left an interview feeling you didn’t get to show your true potential? How would you approach it differently? Share your thoughts below! 👇

Even if you have other plans, emphasize how you'll bring value to them. 📈 And remember: "Candidates focused solely on money can be a red flag. Show interest in the company's mission and projects." "Money is important, but it's about the whole package—flexibility, culture, and growth opportunities." Missed Part 1? Check our previous post for more insights!
