Minister Eamon Ryan opened the latest phase of our Dodder Greenway framework project this week, alongside representatives from South Dublin County Council and the National Transport Authority. The opening of Phase 5 marks a key milestone in our continued partnership to deliver the Dodder Greenway project alongside South Dublin County Council. Once complete, it is envisaged that the Dodder Greenway will link Sir Rogerson’s Quay in the City Centre to the entrance of the Bohernabreena Reservoirs at Glenasmole, South Dublin, a distance of over 17 KM. Following the completion of Phase 5, Murphy has now constructed over 8km of this Greenway. Murphy was awarded our first contract on the Dodder Greenway Framework in January 2020-The Dodder Greenway Phase 2. Since then, we have continuously worked on this framework with successful tenders on subsequent Phases 3, 4 and 5. Works have included the installation of shared cycleways, footpaths, greenspaces, landscaping, and three bridge crossings over the Dodder River at various locations along the route. #MoreToMurphy #OneMurphy #MurphyInIreland #infrastructure

“Hey! How’s it going?” seems like such a simple question, but it could be the one that saves a life. Suicide is one of the biggest killers in construction, in fact across the industry 507 people died by suicide in 2022. We all have a responsibility to look out for each other, and the first step could be as simple as starting up a conversation with a colleague. That is the goal of Time to Talk Day. The biggest mental health conversation, it’s a day for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives. The more conversations we have, the better life is for everyone. Talking about mental health isn’t always easy and sometimes it’s even harder to say how you really feel. But a conversation has the power to change lives. Watch the video below to learn more about the impact we can all have when we take the time to talk. And if you need someone to talk to, but don’t feel confident engaging with those around you, there are plenty of free, confidential support groups available to you: Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity Support Line (available to construction workers and their families) 0345 605 1956 (UK) - 1800 939 122 (ROI) Samaritans 116 123 #ANDYSMANCLUB #OneMurphy #MoretoMurphy #construction #mentalhealth #timetotalk

We had a wonderful time today welcoming students to our Career Insights event at Newbridge Rugby Club in Co. Kildare. Thank you to everyone from our teams across Transportation and Infrastructure, Water, Energy, Natural Resources, Structural Steel, Plant, Electrical, SHESQ and Ground Engineering, for taking the time and for speaking with such passion about the work that we do. While some students were eager to find out more about the apprenticeships we offer, including those in Civil Engineering, Electrical Services, Construction Plant Fitting, Pipefitting and Metal Fabrication; others were interested to learn about degrees courses, which are supported by Murphy’s ‘earn and learn’ model as well as our graduate programme. On-the-job experience is often viewed as the most important part of our early careers programmes. We find that as well as the development activity, our graduates and apprentices appreciate the time with their peers, sharing experiences and talking about their projects. The festive period gave us the perfect excuse to bring them all together, with events across the country to celebrate their time on programme so far and look ahead to their upcoming work. The events allowed attendees to carry out development training, continue to build their personal and professional relationships and increase their understanding of their place in and importance to the business. Our graduate and apprenticeship programmes are both actively recruiting for a variety of roles across the UK and Ireland in disciplines including Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Planning and Project Controls, HGV Driving and Vehicle Service and Maintenance. Murphy is the largest direct employer of emerging talent in the industry. Open to all ages and experiences these programmes are a great to start or develop your career.
