We are delighted to be partnering up with the charity Suicide Or Survive for the second year in a row to raise awareness and funds for their outstanding mental health services.💙💙 On Friday September 20th, we will take on the challenge of abseiling down one of Ireland's most iconic landmarks- Croke Park.☘️ Their descent from 150 feet to the sacred ground below represents more than just an act of bravery; it is a profound declaration of unity. Each of the Intersport Elverys team members has set a fundraising target of €300, an amount that resonates deeply with the cause..🙌 Last year we raised a total of €9,500 and this year we are aiming to surpass this target.🎯 The recipient of this initiative, Suicide Or Survive (S.O.S), is an Irish charity committed to offering vital support to individuals struggling with mental health challenges.🗣️ S.O.S provides a wide array of online and in-person workshops and programs that offer essential assistance to those in need. Additionally, they empower others by providing the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively support those facing mental health difficulties. Recently we had the pleasure of hosting a Brand Engagement day with Nike and a selection of our expert staff. The team learned all about the brand’s history and innovations. We were delighted to attend the official launch of the Ready to Work (WorkAbility) programme at ATU Mayo this week. This initiative is a significant step towards empowering individuals with disabilities, offering them the support and opportunities needed to thrive in the workforce. Cathleen Fergus & Karen Healy from our HR team had the pleasure of meeting Anne Rabbitte T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (Disability), who launched the programme. Events like these are vital for sharing ideas and building partnerships to help overcome employment barriers. A big thank you to South West Mayo Development Company for hosting such an impactful event. INTERSPORT Elverys are delighted to sponsor the Football Association of Ireland Camps again in 2024. The camps take place in over 400 venues across the country for children aged between 6-14 years of age which is designed for children of all ability levels to have fun outdoors in the summer months and learn new skills thanks to over 1000 FAI coaches. We are thrilled to announce the return of our popular Rainbow Bracelets to our stores. This year, we are proud to partner with the incredible LGBTQ+ charity, ShoutOut, in celebration of Pride Month. For every bracelet sold during June, €1 will be donated to ShoutOut. This fantastic organization is dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals through personal storytelling and educational programs. Since 2012, ShoutOut has been delivering workshops in secondary schools across Ireland to combat LGBTQ+ bullying. Their impactful work extends to sports clubs, teachers, parents and guardians, social workers, youth workers, and workplaces. Yesterday was a hat trick of great customer experience for me. I posted about my fantastic experience in Murphy's Ice Cream store on Wicklow Street. Take a look if you haven't seen it yet - https://lnkd.in/ec_aEHUB - and there were some fantastic insights here into how great cx, alongside a great product will attract and delight customers. My second fantastic customer experience yesterday occurred when I returned to one of my favourite stores in Dublin to visit - Intersport Elverys in Dundrum. I popped in yesterday morning with my little sports fanatic to get him measured for a pair of runners. Knowing the importance of getting his size right, particularly given that he will be living in these for the summer, I wanted to get him measured using Elvery's safesize 3d measuring scanner. This is where AI technology can really come into its own within retail. Within seconds, he was measured accurately and I knew exactly what size to pick. But in a reoccuring theme, what I always love about this store is how friendly the staff are, which makes every store visit much easier and more pleasurable. If you haven't visited this store, it is a tactile experience. I love the fact that the footballs, basketballs and other sports items are generously laid around the store, at all levels to allow both tall and small people to pick them up and try them out for themselves. My only problem yesterday was trying to persuade my little man that it was time to leave. As always, this store is a pleasure to visit. #tre #topretailexpert #retailtech #ai #cx
