Supporting “Biz-Green Dress Day”           This year, we once again invited our colleagues to take part in "Biz-Green Dress Day" a programme of Hong Kong Green Building Week organized by Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) to promote a greener lifestyle both in and out of the workplace. Our Wheelock colleagues are embracing a 4-colour dress code - red, green, blue and yellow – shedding ties and blazers to enhance comfort while reducing energy consumption from air conditioning. We all have fun today, while it's meaningful to raise awareness of energy saving!   We are dedicated to sustainability and environmental awareness. Through active participation in sustainability initiatives, we demonstrate our commitment to making a positive impact on our environment.   Small actions have the power to create significant changes. Since 2012, #WheelockProperties has provided steadfast support to Project WeCan 學校起動計劃, granting students from partner schools a range of learning opportunities to uncover their personal aspirations and potential. Following the conclusion of the summer internships, this year’s winners of the "Sports & Arts Achievement Award 2024" have been officially unveiled! In recognition of the students' exceptional performances, Mr. Ricky Wong, our Vice Chairman and Executive Director, hosted a special luncheon to honour the students and celebrate the birthdays of those born in August with genuine warmth. #LongTermValue #LTV #GrowFutureTalents

Fun Day energizing the community at Lok Sin Village (樂善村) The Lok Sin Village Transitional Housing Project, a collaborative effort between the Housing Bureau, Lok Sin Tong, and us #WheelockProperties. It is the largest transitional housing initiative in the Tai Po District. We leased land for a nominal fee of HK$1 to construct Lok Sin Village. Since April this year, we were glad to see residents moving in gradually. Today, we held a Fun Day for the residents in Lok Sin Village to foster community engagement and strengthen the social cohesion there. We invited our staff-cum-artist to host a watercolor painting workshop, along with distributing joy packs and party snacks, infusing art into this welcoming place. We are proud that the engagement workshop was held in the newly available Community Living Room (社區客廳) where was designed and installed by our Wheelock teams. Grow Future Talents #WheelockProperties has proudly supported “Project WeCan 學校起動計劃 - Job Tasting Program” for 12 consecutive years, offering invaluable summer internship opportunities to students from partner schools. This year, three students from Ng Yuk Secondary School joined the Club Wheelock and Project Marketing teams as summer interns, contributing to a wide range of responsibilities, including event planning, market analysis, marketing promotion, property launches. As the internship ends, the trio reflects on their immensely valuable experiences gained over the past four weeks. Each step of their journey has documented significant personal growth, May the memories and on-the-job training make a lasting impact on their future endeavours. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Leslie, Tobira and Carlin for their dedication and participation in this remarkable program. The hands-on experience and essential soft skills acquired within a dynamic and supportive environment is truly invaluable. To promote a healthy workplace, we hosted a lunch workshop in office by inviting dietitians from Meiriki Japan (日本命力）to discuss and address the common health issues among office workers with our colleagues. The workshop was very informative and up-to date that our colleagues understood more on the topics such as eye fatigue, tiredness, shoulder pain, and insomnia. Thanks to the detailed explanations from registered dietitians and the team led by Ophelia Lin , our colleagues had an exceptional experience with one-on-one nutrition consultation learning about their health status and how to maintain and improve it. Wheelock fosters to provide a variety of opportunities for employees to prioritize their physical and mental health. Engaging the workforce and making wellness a cultural value will bring great benefits for both the employees and the organization as a whole. Celebrating our Wheelock’s talent for becoming the first HK swimmer across the North Channel   All athletes in the Olympics are heroes inspiring young to chase their dreams. No matter what the result is, they have fully demonstrated their determination, perseverance and will with professional attitude and sportsmanship which are highly respected. They showed us the power of sports to motivate the next generation to reach their full potential.   At Wheelock, we also have a hero colleague who demonstrated his determination and completed an impossible mission. Ryan Leung swam for 14 hours and 4 minutes and successfully crossed the 40km North Channel strait between Northern Ireland and Scotland. That was the longest and most challenging of the Oceans Seven marathon swims and we are very proud of Ryan becoming the first Hong Kong swimmer to ever complete this feat.   Through this marathon swim, Ryan also raised fund to support the Child Development Initiative Alliance (CDIA) , a Hong Kong based NGO assisting underprivileged youth with internship and mentorship opportunities. He hopes his efforts will motivate children from low-income families to chase their dreams and persist through challenging times. It was very heartening and supportive that Ricky Wong, our Vice Chairman & Managing Director also donated $10,000 to support Ryan’s expedition as well as to CDIA.   Last week, our Wheelock family had a chance enjoying Ryan’s sharing about his challenging and interesting experience during the Company’s “Happy Hour”. Once again, congratulations on Ryan’s well-deserved success. His tremendous efforts, courage and perseverance continue our Wheelock Spirit. Developing Long Term Enduring Value We’ve been proud to partner with WWF-Hong Kong for more than a decade. Since 2011, we have been an early mover to participate WWF’s low-carbon office operation programme and subsequently upgraded to the LOOP Plus programme in 2021. Our dedicated team also contributed professional advice to WWF’s Mai Po Nature Reserve Infrastructure Upgrade Project.   It’s our great pleasure to work with Nicole Wong, CEO, WWF-Hong Kong and her team. We anticipate more upcoming collaborations with WWF to drive sustainability in the built environment of Hong Kong. We’re very proud to share that #MrRickyWong, our Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Wheelock Properties was announced to be awarded the Medal of Honor by HKSAR Government today. This distinguished honor recognizes Mr. Wong’s significant contributions over the years in supporting social enterprises for their development. Since 2018, he served as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the "Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme" (伙伴倡自強). Mr. Wong was also commended for his active participation in the "Project WeCan” (學校起動計劃), a Business-in-community initiative over the years, providing various learning opportunities and internship experiences as well as empowering underprivileged students. It’s heartening to see Mr. Wong’s sustained efforts have been acknowledged by Government through this prestigious award. His commitment and positive attitude are truly commendable.
