SenseTime Hong Kong recently welcomed a group of Young Global Leaders from the World Economic Forum (WEF), organized by 香港科技大学 (HKUST). The group geeked out over our latest AI technologies and products, including enthusiastically taking part in games of chess against our SenseRobot Go. Through an insightful sharing by Maryann Tseng, our senior managing director of strategic investment department, the group gained a better understanding of our generative AI industry scenarios across several vertical markets, all powered by our best-in-class SenseNova large model series. The participants’ enthusiasm amped up when we delved into AI ethics and governance. As we actively exchanged international perspectives, we agreed that it remained critical to focus on global cross-sectoral collaborations in developing AI responsibly. Our education brand, Magic Lab, has teamed up with Campus X, a STEAM educator from Rice Robotics, to launch "Sense AI" - an innovative AI education program tailored for Hong Kong students aged 5-12. Designed to equip students with a well-rounded knowledge of AI, “Sense AI” empowers young minds to navigate the new era of AI through hands-on activities and programming exercises. With our roots in academia, we have always held education close to our hearts. So it is especially meaningful that we debuted Magic Lab on our 10th anniversary in Hong Kong, where we were founded. Our 1H 2024 results demonstrated strong momentum in leveraging Generative AI technologies as we move towards the next frontier of artificial general intelligence. As we look to the future of AI on the cusp of our 10th anniversary, we are also paying homage to our roots. With SenseTime borne out of the Multimedia Lab in 香港中文大学, we were honoured to give back and showcase our industry-leading AI technologies at the CUHK Entrepreneur Day 10th Anniversary Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition in Hong Kong. The energy at our booth was abuzz with excitement as our CEO and CUHK alumnus Dr. Xu Li introduced Professor John Chai, Chairman of the CUHK Council to our robust range of AI technologies, such as Sensechat, our Cantonese Large Language Model designed for the Hong Kong community. Visitors were also deeply captivated with our SenseRobot Go which was competing in multiple matches of Go simultaneously! As Guests-of-Honour Mr Paul Chan, Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary, and Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, mentioned at the event, advancing innovation and research development are key drivers that contribute to a flourishing ecosystem in Hong Kong. Last month, our Hong Kong office was abuzz with energy as we welcomed a group of secondary school students who joined us for a work experience program! Led by our colleagues from the Asia Pacific Business Group and Research Center, the students got a sneak peek into what a typical day at SenseTime is like by shadowing our various project teams. As much as the students were here to learn about the tech ecosystem, we also learned a lot from them. The questions they asked gave us fresh insights as to how the next generation perceives AI amidst a rapidly evolving environment. Through their lens, we saw their passion to leverage AI for a better tomorrow. 🚀🏆🤖 We are empowering Olympic athletes with our leading AI tech! By leveraging AI, we are creating an even more exciting sporting scene, whether it is training athletes or enhancing the viewer's experience through AI! Earlier this year, we were honoured to have Mr. Yao Ming, President of the Chinese Basketball Association, witness the signing of our partnership with the Chinese National Basketball Team. As their AI strategic partner, we will co-develop solutions that integrate our leading AI tech, such as a performance analysis dashboard. With our 3D court modeling and motion capture tech, we can analyse an athlete's performance and the ball's trajectory in real-time, which improves training efficiency and provides robust data to devise competition strategies. In addition, we teamed up with Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and Shanghai University of Sport during the 2024 FIBA 3x3 World Tour to integrate robust data analyses throughout the games, providing valuable data to sharpen their competitive edge.
