This year’s International Youth Day highlights the importance of digitalisation in achieving sustainable development goals and the significant role the youth plays.   At Modern Terminals, we also believe that digitalisation and youth development are essential parts of sustainability. Let’s celebrate the power of youth and digital innovation together!

What a sweet and cool day! The highly anticipated Ice cream Day at Modern Terminals returns for the ninth year! This year our management staff, including our Group Managing Director Horace Lo, manned the counter to serve our colleagues.

Happy Day of the Seafarer! We appreciate seafarers’ tireless efforts and vital contributions to world trade and safety at sea. In Hong Kong, we show our appreciation by providing support to activities of the Hong Kong Seamen’s Union.  Salute to all seafarers!

On the World Oceans Day, Modern Terminals reiterates our commitment to protecting the marine environment. With our facilities located at the waterfront, we place great emphasis on minimising the impact of our operations on water quality. We also engage with the youth to promote marine conservation and the recent Modern Terminals Cares for the Ocean programme is one of the examples.

Starting from today, the new ZIM Albatross (ZAT) Service will call at DaChan Bay Terminals every Saturday, providing direct connections between West Coast South America and South China. The new ZAT service, operated by ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd, offers a fast, reliable and cost efficient logistics solution to exporters and importers for tapping into the emerging markets in South America.  

The 2024 durian season has started!    This year, Thailand’s durian export to China is expected to have a 12% growth year-on-year. Handling 17 weekly services from Thailand, Hong Kong Seaport Alliance will ensure durian shipments go through the port efficiently and will be delivered to the market fresh.

Health and safety is always our top priority. While climate change is having an impact on occupational safety and health, Modern Terminals is playing our part to help address both issues with our Sustainability Strategy. Our Strategy includes long-term goals for all our five sustainability pillars - Governance, People, Health & Safety, Environment, and Community Involvement. On the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we would like to express our appreciation of all the efforts our team has put in and look forward to more achievements in these areas.
