We had the incredible opportunity to inspire young minds at the ‘Jardines STEM Day’, a volunteering event focused on innovation, learning, and fun! A team of 30 volunteers from Jardines came together to host an interactive experience day, with the aim of fostering a passion for STEM among participants. Twenty children from underprivileged families and ethnic minority backgrounds engaged in a series of activities that included making a DIY solar mosaic lamp workshop using recycled plastic, and exclusive guided company visits to Zung Fu House and JEC’s Biochar Plant where they experienced real life applications of technology. The event was an enriching educational experience for both the children and our volunteers. It showcased our ongoing commitment at Jardines to promote social inclusion by empowering young individuals in the field of STEM. Recently, we partnered with The Women's Foundation and co-organised a STEM workshop to support the future development of young talents. These STEM enthusiasts had the opportunity to dive into the world of electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy. They uncovered the inner workings of EVs, discovered the charging mechanisms, and had a tour of the Zung Fu Company Limited showroom and repair workshop. We hope this experience motivates more young people to consider careers in STEM, and a big thank you to Jardine Engineering Corporation and Zung Fu for supporting this. #Jardines #JardineMatheson #JardineEngineeringCorporation #ZungFu

Jardines has announced our 2024 half-year results. • Underlying profit attributable to shareholders of US$550 million and underlying earnings per share of US$1.91 • Stable interim dividend of US$0.60 • Underlying profit 33% below 2023, principally due to non-recurring impairments in Hongkong Land • DFI Retail underlying profit up 127% “The Group delivered weaker results in the first half of 2024, impacted by impairments in Hongkong Land’s Chinese mainland Development Properties business and challenging market conditions in Indonesia and Vietnam. There was, however, an encouraging improvement in DFI Retail’s year-on-year performance. The Group has a strong balance sheet and, under leadership strengthened by new CEOs in four of its portfolio companies, will focus on delivering sustainable long-term value and growth from its growing markets in Asia.” Ben Keswick, Executive Chairman Read the full announcement at > https://lnkd.in/ghjAj_CR #Jardines #JardineMatheson
