【Staying on top of potential data breaches】   At #Gleneagles, we are committed to providing the best possible and personalised care for our patients while ensuring that our data security and privacy is always safeguarded.   Since 2019, we have been organising periodic data breach drills to strengthen the preparedness and resilience of our staff to potential data breaches. In a recent round of tabletop exercise, our staff conducted some drills on handling common data breach scenarios covering ransomware attack, accidental document disposal, email or postal leakage, and phishing under the guidance of a professional consultant. The group seized the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of the best practices and gained additional insights into the crucial process to go through in managing data breach incidents and minimising the impact.

【Achieving continuously high healthcare standards through adopting CIHA Standards】 To ensure that our quality and patient care and safety stay on par with international standards and to foster healthcare integration within the Greater Bay Area, #Gleneagles is set to adopt the China’s International Hospital Accreditation Standards (CIHA) (2021 Version) in hospital accreditation, in addition to our current adoption of The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International accreditation. We have recently kick-started the preparation for the CIHA exercise and had the pleasure of inviting experts from the Shenzhen Hospital Accreditation Research Center (SHARC) to introduce to us the background, accreditation process, requirements and risk assessment and address questions from our staff. The informative session was followed by an insightful experience sharing by representatives of The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital. We will make every effort to achieve the CIHA and are confident that our dual accreditation will allow us to have the best of both schemes and deliver the best possible care for patients!

【Parkway Medical Services joins hands with Caritas on Precious Blood Hospital (Caritas) redevelopment to provide excellent and comprehensive healthcare services】 Parkway Medical Services (PMS), a member of IHH Healthcare, and Caritas – Hong Kong (Caritas) signed today a Memorandum of Understanding on the redevelopment project of Precious Blood Hospital (Caritas), to co-create a new hospital campus which will involve creating new space for inpatient and ambulatory services. The redevelopment project will involve PMS renovating the current Precious Blood Hospital building, upgrading its facilities, setting up an off-site ambulatory care centre, and in the long run, developing a new ambulatory clinical block near the hospital. The redeveloped hospital will focus on the provision of outpatient consultation, elderly healthcare services, and high volume day and elective operations or procedures. The hospital will also actively participate in Public-Private Partnership (“PPP”) programmes to provide timely care for patients and help relieve the pressure of public hospitals. PMS looks forward to leveraging each other’s expertise and knowledge and contributing to the project its experience in hospital development and operation as well as in delivering excellent and seamless service experience. Our integrated network will continue to engage in various collaboration initiatives to achieve strong synergies as we strive to offer high-quality healthcare services to more people in Hong Kong and beyond.

【An inspiring knowledge exchange in drug development and innovation at DIA China Annual Meeting】  #Gleneagles has recently taken part in the Drug Information Association (DIA) China Annual Meeting 2024 in Suzhou in partnership with The University of Hong Kong Clinical Trials Centre (China) Limited.    The event allowed us to connect with more than 6000+ drug development professionals and 490+ exhibitors from pharmaceutical companies, clinical development sites and clinical research organisations. We took the opportunity to introduce and share information about our organisation, clinical trial service network, standardised data management platform and the various clinical research projects we have conducted in the areas of drugs, vaccinations and medical equipment. In addition, our delegation was invited to contribute through thought-provoking talks and panel discussions. The event has fostered a mutually beneficial knowledge exchange that helps strengthen our industry connections and understanding of the evolving pharmaceutical landscape. 

【Exchanging insights into telehealth in private healthcare at Hospital Authority Convention】 #Gleneagles was pleased to be part of the Hospital Authority Convention 2024 which was widely supported by distinguished local, Mainland and overseas speakers and healthcare professionals from different disciplines. In a session titled "Telehealth Development and Smart Initiatives", Dr Kenneth Tsang, Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and Regional Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare North Asia, depicted the development and implementation of telehealth services in private healthcare sector and the relevant initiatives Gleneagles has taken in enhancing service efficiency, care accessibility, and patient experience and engagement. Dr Tsang also discussed the emerging trends of internet and virtual hospitals outside of Hong Kong and how these may reshape the delivery of healthcare by hospitals.
