World's leading Organization for Women in Tech. On a mission to empower 5 million women and girls in tech by 2030
À propos
Women in Tech® is more than simply a women’s networking group. We are an international non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sector. Our goal is to see girls and women succeed in these career fields, along with their male colleagues. Today, we are in the midst of the fourth Industrial Revolution. If it is going to succeed, the level of women’s participation must grow. Ultimately, we want our daughters and granddaughters to live in a world where access to knowledge, innovation and business opportunities are based on interest and ability, not gender. To achieve this goal, we must take action now. Our Vision A world where every girl and woman has equal access to opportunities in STEM. In a rapidly changing world, science, technology, engineering and mathematics have already had profound impact on our daily lives. We believe that girls and women have much to contribute in these areas. By supporting them in their choice to pursue STEM education and careers, we are standing on the cusp of a major global shift in how we teach, study, work, do business and more. Our Mission To close the gender gap in the STEM sector by helping girls and women embrace science, technology, engineering and mathematics. These subjects are not innately suited for one gender over another, and there is no rational reason why girls and women should not pursue career options in STEM if they choose.

A long road for gender parity at the Olympic Games. The story of a 30-century-old struggle, with its battles, victories and heroines. 🔥 Women's path to parity at the Olympic Games is a marathon. Banned from the arenas and grandstands in Antiquity, absent from the first Games of the modern era in 1896, the first female participants numbered just 22 at the 1900 Paris Games, barely allowed to compete in a few events. 🌟THEY PAVED THE WAY🌟 Powerful, influential, supportive, passionate, ambitious. These women are the fighters of their time. Each of their conquests has advanced the world of sport, and the world at large, by giving women the right to exist, to be visible, to raise standards, to win. The right to victory for women is their legacy, and even today we say thank you to them.

🏅 Breaking Records Before the Games Begin: Paris 2024 Olympics Achieves Historic Gender Parity! 🇫🇷🔥 The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are making history with a groundbreaking 50:50 gender allocation. For the first time ever, we'll see equal representation of female and male athletes across all events. Key highlights: 🔥First Olympics with full gender parity 💙152 women's events, 157 men's events, 20 mixed-gender events Milestone described as "one of the most important moments in the history of women at the Olympic Games" by IOC President Thomas Bach This achievement marks a remarkable journey from the 1900 Paris Olympics, where women made up just 2.2% of participants, to today's equal representation. From bans on women in long athletic events in 1928 due to perceived "physical weakness", to the 2012 London "Women's Games" where every country included female athletes, we've come a long way. Paris 2024 is not just about sports—it's a powerful statement for gender equality on the world stage. 📸 The photo captures a powerful moment: Teddy Riner and Marie-José Pérec, two French sporting legends, lighting the Olympic cauldron together during the opening ceremony on July 26, 2024. This image beautifully symbolizes the gender parity achieved in these games. #Paris2024 #OlympicGames #GenderEquality #WomenInSports #BreakingBarriers Ayumi Moore Aoki Maya Ayoub Marion Hegarty Angela Naser Melissa Slaymaker Wafeeqa Wahid Tamuna Kvintradze Nino Lortkipanidze Leyla Seyidzade

Inspiring moment at the Olympic Games opening ceremony! 🇫🇷🏅 Last night, Paris paid tribute to 10 remarkable French women who shaped history. From revolutionaries to artists, these trailblazers were honored with statues that will remain as a legacy in the city. The honorees include: 🌟 Olympe de Gouges: Revolutionary writer and women's rights advocate 🌟 Alice Milliat: Athlete who pioneered women's participation in the Olympics 🌟 Gisèle Halimi: Lawyer and activist for women's rights 🌟 Simone de Beauvoir: Feminist philosopher and author 🌟 Paulette Nardal: Pioneering Black feminist and writer 🌟 Jeanne Barret: First woman to circumnavigate the globe 🌟 Louise Michel: Anarchist and feminist activist 🌟 Christine de Pizan: Medieval philosopher and poet 🌟 Alice Guy: World's first female film director 🌟 Simone Veil: Political leader who legalized abortion in France This celebration highlights the often-overlooked contributions of women to French society and global progress. It's a powerful statement as Paris hosts the world for the Olympics. Strikingly, Paris currently has 260 statues of men but only around 40 of women. This initiative is a step towards balancing representation and recognizing women's achievements. #Olympics #WomenInHistory #FrenchHeritage #Equality #Sisterhood
