🌍 Today marks #EarthOvershootDay - the day humanity's collective resource consumption exceeds what Earth can regenerate in a year. And it’s only August.🤯 📣 This serves as a powerful and tangible reminder of our urgent need to live more sustainably, to do better for our planet and for ourselves. 📅 Individual countries’ overshoot day is the date on which Earth Overshoot Day would fall if all of humanity consumed like the people in that country. Country overshoot days are published on January 1st of each year, using the latest year of the most recent National Footprint and Biocapacity Accounts edition. Where does your country fall? 💡Did you know: Reducing food waste is the number one action you can take to help tackle climate change, by limiting the temperature rise to 2˚C by 2100 (Project Drawdown, 2020). Every meal saved from going to waste helps protect precious resources and avoid unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions. By being mindful of our food habits, we can take meaningful action and help turn the tide. 🌈 Pride month reflections: Recognising our internal advocates and allies 🌈 As we come to the end of Pride Month, we want to take a moment to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible efforts of our colleagues who have made this month a memorable and impactful one at Too Good To Go. 💚 Our Pride Month activities have been nothing short of inspiring. A special thank you to our P.R.I.D.E. Employee Resource Group and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Taskforce for putting together such meaningful events. 🏳️🌈 Internal Pride Panel: We had the privilege of hearing from some of our very own team members who courageously shared their personal stories about identity, belonging, and their experiences both within and outside of Too Good To Go. 🏳️⚧️ We were also honoured to welcome Hannah and Jake Graf MBE, who led an insightful session on the trans experience. They shared their stories, and provided us with practical ways to cultivate a more inclusive workplace. 🌍 Across our global offices, local Pride initiatives have been in full swing, celebrating diversity and inclusion in unique and impactful ways. In Italy, the team learned about other employee experiences in starting her family with her partner, and the barriers many LGBTQIA+ families face in doing so. In Poland and the Netherlands, team members attended local celebrations including Pride marches and a drag queen bingo event! 🎊 And around the globe, lots of great decorations and celebrations have been happening to show team pride in local offices, including amazing merchandise such as stickers and hats designed by our wonderful Creative team.
