    Our annual summer party took place last Friday. Its theme? Olympic Games. Besides dressing up for the occasion (with the top 3 choices being swimmer, football player, and member of the press), the evening also included its own set of games in which we competed as teams in categories that are currently still missing from the Olympics – such as "Pop the Balloon" and "The Egg Race". This offered a great opportunity to get to know people better and learn about their personal and random talents while putting them forth as our teams' candidates for the different competitions. Finishing our outdoor games with a ceremony to award the winners with their medals, the party then made its way indoors where we practiced Olympics-worthy (break)dancing routines to the music of our DJ.

    On Friday, our company took part in this year's DHL Run at Fælledparken. Each year, the event offers a great space (and atmosphere) for the teams from our headquarters and our warehouse to come together and spend an evening filled with sports, food, and good company. And a special appearance: the balloon(s) from our AW24 campaign shot in New York City also made it to this occasion and helped us to cheer on our coworkers as they ran and walked their 5km.

    SAMSØE SAMSØE IN’TRE’DUCTION Get to know our employees in this series for which we ask them three (“tre” in Danish) questions. Meet Javier Artal Herbella, Head of Business Development, who’s based in our HQ in Copenhagen.   How did you end up at Samsøe Samsøe? I’ve been moving around a lot and have lived in 8 or 9 countries. When I finished my studies, I knew I wanted to keep moving which led me to Germany, Sweden, and now Denmark. While living in Sweden, I was in dialogue with two former colleagues who were working at Samsøe Samsøe and recommended for me to join the company, which I did in March 2020.   What do you like about working at Samsøe Samsøe? If you have an idea, you have the possibility to bring it in, and say: “okay, I want to do this”. I think it’s possible for anyone at Samsøe Samsøe to explore their ideas to bring the brand forward. And, luckily, a lot of the people working here are driven to bring the brand forward.   What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work? I like to explore new restaurants and bars in the city. I try to keep up with the food scene in Copenhagen, but there’s always a new place opening! I also enjoy traveling with my girlfriend to experience new cities as well as visiting friends and family around the world. Additionally, I also have a boat with one of my friends docked back in Sweden, so whenever the weather is good, we go for a trip.

    The Nine to Nine campaign for our new AW24 collection traverses a day in New York City – from 9AM to 9PM, followed by 9PM to 9AM. Spanning over different times of day and locations across the city, it seeks to showcase how the urban landscape changes over the course of a day and how the styles from our latest collection are made for changing alongside it. At the centre of it – five members from our community, who share their own perspective of the city in the accompanying series of videos.

    On Tuesday, we hosted the Golden Hour(s) dinner at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Celebrating the time just after sunrise and just before sunset, it was conceptualised as a fully immersive experience. The centrepiece of the dinner was a light installation by Philip Fredericia Sacht that changed in colour over the duration of the evening to capture the nuances of the golden hours, with the spatial scent by Emmanuel MARTINI DC and sound design by Adidaddi (Nora Benjnouh) transitioning with it across all sequences. Dinner was prepared and served by chef Mati Pichci and also mirrored the theme of the night with each course arriving in shades of yellow.

    First presented during Paris Fashion Week in 2023 and now coming to our hometown of Copenhagen during the SS25 Fashion Week, our KAFFEBAR concept has our vision of circularity and sustainability at its very centre. Deadstock fabrics, offcuts, and samples are still common in today's fashion industry and while all of our Blue Belief denim is crafted from preferred materials (certified organic or recycled) and with verified low-impact technologies, we still face challenges with limiting the excess fabrics that come with creating our denim pieces. As part of our ambition towards sustainability, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce waste and promote circularity, which is why we have collaborated with set-designer Fatima Fransson to give these jeans a new life and purpose. The result is a set of upcycled furniture that showcases our commitment to doing better, but also serves as a means of bringing our community together in the KAFFEBAR space to foster new connections and creative conversations.

    We’re excited to announce our partnership with Samsøe Samsøe, an international fashion brand with Scandinavian roots that is headquartered in Copenhagen. We’re happy to be working with Femme van Gils, CSR Manager at Samsøe Samsøe, on reducing the brand’s environmental impact. Looking to establish a strong system for gathering data and boosting the precision and ease of their environmental reporting, Samsøe Samsøe will conduct its full upcoming GHG report with Carbonfact. Together, we have already assessed 1500 products for their 2023 report and we will continue to support the company in optimising their ambitious Sourcing and Materials Strategy – whilst also structuring a strong baseline for the reporting year.     SAMSØE SAMSØE IN’TRE’DUCTION Get to know our employees in this series for which we ask them three (“tre” in Danish) questions.   Meet Victor Bohn, Key Account Coordinator, who’s based in our Warehouse Office in Glostrup.   How did you end up at Samsøe Samsøe? As a matter of fact, I actually studied to become a school teacher. However, after a couple of years teaching, I wanted to try something else. I had been working in fashion before and wanted to get back into the industry, this time in an administrative role. This, eventually, led me to an open position at Samsøe Samsøe as Office Trainee, which is where my journey with the company started. What do you like about working at Samsøe Samsøe? In Samsøe Samsøe, you get the opportunity to try out lots of things if you want to. You’re not put into a box of fixed assignments. You also don’t feel stuck in your position, you can try something else if you’d like to. That’s what I experienced when I finished my trainee program after 2 years: I was able to switch to a whole different position, that I found more suiting for me. What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work? Whenever I have the opportunity, I spend my free time with my daughter, which is my favourite pastime. However, occasionally I like going to the stadium and watch my favourite football team play. I go with my dad and brother and we all have a season pass, so we’re there for all the home games. I love experiencing the great atmosphere with the two of them.

    For the lead-up to Paris Fashion Week and the weeks after, we collaborated with our long-term partner, Galeries Lafayette, to shine a special light on our modern sunglasses with an exclusive pop-up at their Haussmann location. Following last year's successful launch of this category in our own stores, this collaboration presented the perfect opportunity to introduce and showcase our extended range of frames at the iconic department store.
