Evonik India’s Healthcare team recently hosted a highly successful Pharma Summit 2024 in Ahmedabad to celebrate 70 years of EUDRAGIT®, a leading pharmaceutical product. Co-sponsored by Azelis India Pvt. Ltd., the event featured a range of informative sessions and engaging discussions, bringing together industry experts and professionals to discuss emerging trends in the pharmaceutical industry. The summit began with a welcome session and product portfolio presentation by Azelis India, followed by an Evonik presentation on how the company is improving lives today and tomorrow. The next session focused on EUDRAGIT® for oral drug delivery systems, sharing insights, and presenting troubleshooting case studies with EUDRAGIT® applications. The summit also included a panel discussion on emerging trends in the pharmaceutical industry, with panel members Dr. Mukesh Ukawala, DGM at Zydus Lifesciences Ltd; Dr. Amit Gupta, Associate Director at Piramal Pharma Solutions and Dr. Derajram Benival, Assistant Profesor from NIPER Ahmedabad. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Nitesh Shah, Business Director of Asia South at Evonik. Another session focusing on overcoming challenges in scale-up and technology transfer, was given by Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Senior Vice President and Head of MS&T at Zydus Lifesciences. 35 million euros for sustainable biotechnology: An international consortium consisting of Evonik's venture capital unit, BOLD, the venture capital fund of L'Oréal and DTCF | DeepTech & Climate Fonds as well as Clay Capital fka VisVires New Protein, ICOS Capital and LIBERSET has invested in Abolis Biotechnologies. The French company develops customized solutions based on microorganisms to support the industry on its way to more sustainability. Abolis will use the funding to accelerate the research and development of innovative biomanufacturing and microbiome solutions. Evonik - with its Care Solutions Business Line - as well as L'Oréal and Abolis also agreed on a new industrial partnership. 🌿🔬 Day 2 at the DECHEMA Forum 2024: Evonik presents innovative technologies and solutions for a sustainable chemical industry There are many visions for a sustainable industrial future - hydrogen economy, circular economy, waste-free production. But what is already available today? How do we deal with climate change and resource scarcity? How can processes be developed and scaled more efficiently, and what tools are available for this? And what can the industries learn from each other? Representatives from industry, science and politics will be exploring these questions at the DECHEMA Forum in Friedrichshafen. Evonik is also represented with a stand in the Graf-Zeppelin-Haus. One of the highlights? Our depolymerization process developments, which advance plastics recycling by returning plastics to their basic chemical building blocks - a real step towards a closed loop. Also in focus: the technology deployment approach, i.e. the combination of engineering know-how and specialty chemicals for new fields of application in the process industry. Visitors from Brazil: Evonik recently welcomed a group of Brasilian social scientists to its Essen Goldschmidtstraße site. They were accompanied by the Director of the Institute for Social Movements at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Stefan Berger, and some doctoral students. The delegation used the exchange to gain deeper insights into Evonik's co-determination culture and to take these back to Brazil, where companies are increasingly striving to establish similar structures. "Co-determination not only safeguards the interests of the workforce but also provides a crucial competitive edge: It fosters innovation and ensures that companies navigate through crises and transformations more effectively," Gerd Ribbeheger, deputy chairman of the general works council stated. #Evonik #RUB
