Kevin Pfirrmann, Measurement Engineer Operational Quality Management, shares his thoughts on joining EagleBurgmann after coming from Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions: "Recently I had the great pleasure to join EagleBurgmann. As a master’s student, I had a chance to develop a concept to increase the energy efficiency of compressed air systems at the FHCS Monselice Plant. As you might know, compressed air is defined as one of the most energy-intensive carriers in the industry, so the savings from reducing the losses in compressed air systems were substantial for all our production sites involved. And I’m so proud that together with colleagues from other FHCS sites in Augsburg and Norrköping we won the internal Together Trophy at the FHCS Global Production Network (GPNet). I have now joined the Eurasburg project team for Energy Monitoring 2.0 and hope to use my knowledge and practical experience to support our EagleBurgmann team in getting a similar system up and running at the Eurasburg plant." At EagleBurgmann, we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence and rapid response times. Our recent project in Brazil with a global supplier and operator of offshore floating platforms is a testament to this commitment. The customer was experiencing failures in the eight compressor seals of the vapor recovery unit, which threatened to shut down production on the entire platform. The seals needed to be repaired and there was no time to wait for new seals to be manufactured. The required metal bellows seals had a lead time of over 150 days, which was unacceptable in this case. Our Macaé service center mobilized quickly to repair the seals in time. The parts were manufactured at our headquarters in Valinhos, 680 km away. Our service technician traveled to Valinhos, made the necessary repairs, returned to Macaé and completed assembly and testing in record time. We met and exceeded the customer's expectations by ensuring a seamless and quick repair while avoiding a costly production stoppage. This success was made possible by the creative efforts of our diverse team. Last week, we at EagleBurgmann had reason to celebrate. Together with our colleagues from Freudenberg Chemical Specialities, Klüber, Chem-Trend, OKS Spezialschmierstoffe, omniTECHNIK and Freudenberg ePower Systems, we celebrated 175 years of Freudenberg. Only 1% of all companies active in Germany have such a long history. We can look back on this event with pride. More than 2,000 employees came together and celebrated according to the motto [Curious] since 1849. Babak Khodadadi Bashbolagh, CEO of Freudenberg Flow Technologies, introduced the evening: "Today we are celebrating 175 years of Freudenberg. EagleBurgmann has been part of the Freudenberg family for 20 years. We have a long history, but at the same time we are a dynamic and innovative company. Today, we not only create innovations together, we also celebrate together." We were particularly pleased about the visit of Thomas Herr, CFO Freudenberg Group, Dr. Sebastian Weiss, CFO Freudenberg Chemical, and Dr. Max Kley, CEO Freudenberg e-Power Systems. EagleBurgmann has inaugurated one of the world’s fastest storage systems at our Eurasburg plant. The investment represents a significant step in our automation and digitalization strategy. The modern automated warehouse offers four times more capacity on the same surface compared to conventional warehouse solutions. We will further increase the performance and efficiency of the site. During the opening ceremony, Dr. Kai Ziegler and Dr. Martin Pitsch demonstrated how we can supply our customers even faster and better with the new warehouse system. Today we celebrate World Youth Skills Day. This day draws attention to the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, attractive work and entrepreneurship to shape and secure the future of companies like EagleBurgmann.   Today, EagleBurgmann has more than 260 employees worldwide who are under 25 years old and more than 470 employees who are between 25 and 30 years old. We will continue to encourage and support young talents to start their career with us.   One of our young talents is Ray Chen. He works as a Technical Project Engineer in our International Projects Team in Shanghai, China. In his role he needs to clearly understand customer requirements and be familiar with industry standards. He provides technical support regarding mechanical seal products and applications to clients, our sales teams, and also other departments.   For the World Youth Skills Day, he shared some insights with us:   Why have you chosen to start your career at EagleBurgmann? EagleBurgmann gave me an opportunity to challenge myself. In the beginning, I didn’t even know what a mechanical seal was. What interested me from the start and continues to interest me every day, is how our mechanical seals support our customers on their way to more sustainability. So motivated by my curiosity and my sense of responsibility, I began my career in EagleBurgmann.   What motivated you to develop the skills you have today? I would say that my ability to take on challenges, think creatively and have a problem-solving mindset motivates me to develop every day. When I started at EagleBurgmann, I had to learn a lot and still do every day. Making mistakes is part of the learning process. In my opinion, facing mistakes head on and learning from them for the future is a valuable experience that allows you to grow.   What kind of impact do you hope to make with your skills in the long term? Due to my curiosity and strong sense of responsibility, I want to be an expert in my role who sustainably supports the growth of the company by acquiring and passing on excellent product and application knowledge.
