Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting five teachers from the Salesianos Hermanos Garate Institute at one of the photovoltaic plants we operate in Poblete, Ciudad Real. ☀️ The visit was organized to provide the teachers with technical training, equipping them with knowledge they can pass on to their students. 👨🏫 During the session, our colleagues Jacobo Silveira Benito and Luis Francisco Campos covered key topics such as: • The operation and technical specifications of the photovoltaic plant. • Maintenance and operation of solar energy systems. • Safety and risk prevention protocols in photovoltaic installations. • Best practices for optimizing solar energy production. At #bwreES, we're proud to contribute to the development of future professionals who will join the renewable energy sector. 🍃

🌍 Exciting news for #RenewableEnergy and #Biodiversity! The County Administrative Board has just approved a new solar park in Östergötland, Sweden. Not only will this park contribute to #SustainableEnergy, but it is also creating a refuge for several threatened species, including the rare Woodland Brown butterfly (Lopinga achine) 🦋. Developed by BayWa r.e. Nordic in collaboration with Linköping University, this project is a prime example of how new energy infrastructures can enhance local ecosystems. The solar park is located in a rich oak landscape, home to many endangered species. We've carefully designed the park to benefit these species, particularly the Woodland Brown butterfly, which is highly dependent on specific environmental conditions. Martin Sjödahl, nature expert at BayWa r.e. Nordic, shares, "We don't need to compromise the energy transition for nature conservation. With thoughtful planning, new power generation can create and preserve ecological values. I'm proud of how we've tailored this project to support the Woodland Brown butterfly and other species reliant on oak habitats." Linköping University’s Karl-Olof Bergman, an expert on the Woodland Brown butterfly, adds, "The solar park's design and management plan is likely to support the spread of this rare butterfly and its host plant." This 41-hectare and 38 MW solar park will produce enough electricity to power 7,600 homes and will be built within 1–2 years once grid connections are established. #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #Biodiversity #SolarEnergy #BayWareNordic #LinköpingUniversity #ProudToProtectNature #bwreSD https://lnkd.in/dZ9aRjgN
