On #WorldNoTobaccoDay, created by World Health Organization in 1978 to draw global attention to the tobacco epidemic and the preventable death and disease it causes. Paul Y. in collaboration with United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service hosted a #SmokeCessation workshop at our site office in Fanling North New Development Area, Phase 1: Fanling Bypass Eastern Section project. We were pleased to have a facilitator from United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service present to give full support to a group of our colleagues of more than 20 personnel comprising local, new arrived and ethnic minority colleagues who attended the workshop and indicated their desire to stop smoking. There was a 45-minute sharing about the potential health risks of smoking, followed by one-on-one counselling with free smoking cessation medication given to each participant - we hope everyone at the workshop had a great time! Paul Y. is grateful to United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service for the collaboration and looks forward to organising more CSR events in the future. #smokecessation #healthylife #health #nosmoking #CSR #worldnotobaccoday #smokefree

Paul Y. was honoured that Ir Jonathan Wong, Director, was invited to attend and be a panellist at the Digital Economy Summit last week to discuss and exchange views on how smart city technology can accelerate future growth of digital economies. The Summit attracted over 4,000 attendees, including over 100 technology visionaries, industry pioneers and business leaders from across the world. Ir Wong shared how cutting-edge technology will transform and support the expansion of the digital infrastructure revolution and Paul Y.’s experience in adopting innovative technology in its operations to enhance site safety and quality: "We have driven our company to adopt application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) on projects during the full project cycle from planning stage to installation and testing & commissioning stages.” At the end of the panel discussion, Ir Wong added: “We should put more effort and resources in driving our people to adopt BIM and its wide range of applications in developing more and more world class smart buildings for Hong Kong in the future”. We will continue to play a part in the application of innovative technology in the construction industry. #innovation #construction #BIM

Today we join the world in celebrating International Women's Day to recognise the remarkable contribution of women to our business and society as a whole. Wendy Fung, Senior Estimating Manager, with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, shared that it is not easy being a woman leader in the construction industry. She was encouraged to see that, in recent years, the number of women working in the industry has increased at all levels and in all disciplines. She believes that women are attentive, hardworking, forward-thinking and positive and therefore more education/training opportunities and support should be provided for women of the next generation to empower them for leadership and managerial roles in the industry. Fiona Chan, Deputy Project Director, added that, as a woman leader, it is important to be self-confident to break barriers and cultural norms in this traditionally “male-dominated” industry to foster #diversityandinclusion. We strive to provide equal opportunities to all our staff and are committed to #InspireInclusion so that every individual is valued in the #workplace. #IWD2024 #genderequality #DandI

Last week, we held the traditional Bai-Sun Ceremony together with representatives from our client, Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS), and their consultants, DLN Architects, C M Wong & Associates, Meinhardt and Rider Levett Bucknall, to celebrate the start of construction for Hung Shui Kiu Phase II. Paul Y. thanks HKHS for entrusting us with the delivery of a 2nd Dedicated Rehousing Estate (DRE) project in the same area as the first, Hung Shui Kiu Phase I, which is in full swing. As part of the ceremony, representatives of the parties carved roasted pigs and made offerings to bless the project and the project team for the smooth and safe progress, and successful completion of the project. On completion, this DRE project will provide approximately 962 residential units for eligible households affected by the Government's development clearance or the urban renewal programme. As always, we look forward to working closely with HKHS and other project stakeholders to provide comfortable homes and housing to the community as a whole. #DedicatedRehousingEstate #teamwork #webuildthefuture #baisun
