    According to the latest French Consumer report from AliExpress, online shopping promotes access to sports and encourages sports practice. The new study also found that the summer of sports in Europe has inspired consumers to explore various activities, such as football, hiking, cycling, track and field, and basketball.   Since 2019, AliExpress has seen more than 161 million purchases of sports-related items and has enabled consumers around the world to actively participate in a sport.   According to our study, 59% of consumers surveyed said they were able to try a sports activity through online shopping, and 44% believe that online shopping has made sports more accessible.   The figures confirm that online shopping maintains a positive trend, with consumers spending €770 on average. Sporting goods also rank high in the list of spending categories, with an average basket of €94.   Eager for more insights?     Did you know that online shopping is boosting sports engagement?   Our latest Consumer Insights Report shows that 56% of Germans are discovering new sports thanks to online shopping, and 38% feel it is making sports more accessible.   In the second quarter of 2024, Germans spent an average of €652 online, just above the European average of €622.
