Biotech European subsidiaries activity   SECOIR 2024, Spain; TOA 2024, Turkey; DOC 2024, Germany   Three of our European subsidiaries attended their national ophthalmology congresses in the last couple of months. In Spain, Biotech Iberia organized the Biotech Premium IOLs Symposium at the SECOIR congress which was attended by more than 200 professionals. Biotech’s EYECRYL Phakic Live Surgery at the TOA was viewed by a great number of people. Finally, the German DOC that took place in Nuremberg by the end of June was also successful. Ultraviolet Safety Awareness Month Ultraviolet (UV) light is radiation that emanates from the sun. There are 3 types of UV light. Accumulated UV light exposure from the sun can lead to injuries like cataracts, eye cancer, and growths on the eye. The same way you protect your skin, you should protect your eyes from UV light.   When undergoing a cataract treatment, the natural eye lens is replaced by an IOL. Most IOLs are colorless and the filter function from shortwave, aggressive blue light is lost.
