A next-level collaboration for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles. 💧 Together with Toyota, we will combine our innovative and technological strengths to jointly develop the next generation of fuel cell technology — and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Pioneering hydrogen tech since 1979 💡 Did you know that we’ve been working with hydrogen as a potential drive system for decades? These are some of our key milestones throughout history: 1979: A BMW 520 was converted into the first BMW test car to use liquid hydrogen as fuel. 2000: The first ever small series hydrogen car embarked on a "CleanEnergy World Tour" - an early hydrogen mobility showcase. 2014: The BMW 535iA Hydrogen was built to demonstrate zero local emissions, sporty dynamism, driving comfort, and long-distance suitability. 2023: A pilot fleet of the BMW iX5 Hydrogen took to cities around the world, including Melbourne, for testing and demonstration purposes. Our journey with hydrogen tech is still ongoing. Stay tuned. More here: https://b.mw/z1UG3 #BMWGroup #hydrogen #emobility #innovation

Innovation has played a key role in the BMW Group’s strategy throughout its 108-history, defining its products and position as a world leader in the automotive industry. The company’s people are the driving force behind this success, developing industry-first technologies and solutions that set BMW apart. One of those innovators is Sydney-born engineer, Dr. Stella Clarke, who has spearheaded a variety of advanced concepts, including the creative use of groundbreaking ‘E Ink’ technology, which allows a vehicle’s exterior colour to change with a simple swipe of a smartphone touchscreen. This technology made its debut in black and white on the award-winning BMW iX Flow at CES 2022, the world’s largest technology trade show, followed by the full-colour BMW i Vision Dee, presented one year later at the same show. This year, the technology was further developed to incorporate the vibrant Ndebele designs from the 12th BMW Art Car, designed by artist Esther Mahlangu, showcased on the BMW i5 Flow Nostokana. Last week, Dr. Clarke was in Melbourne to meet and engage with our employees, dealers, and inspire the next generation of Australian designers and engineers from Korowa Anglican Girls' School, Monash University, University of Melbourne, and RMIT University. She shared her personal and career journey and offered insights into the research and engineering process behind her innovative use of ‘E Ink’ technology to change the colour of a product. At BMW Group, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. Through initiatives like this, we remain committed to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within our organisation and the community in which we operate.

Last week at BMW we were proud to celebrate our annual Compliance Day, a testament to our unwavering commitment to ethical business practices and corporate responsibility. Our compliance teams put together an engaging, streamlined one-day agenda for all associates, focused on delivering key compliance and governance topics. The jam-packed day included a Compliance Carousel with agile, short-form sessions, a fireside chat with May Wong and Clarence Chua on how compliance has shaped their career journeys, and deep-dive sessions on important compliance topics for 2024. Throughout the day, we celebrated the tireless efforts of our compliance team and the unwavering commitment of our entire workforce in upholding our values and principles. We are proud to be a company that puts compliance at the forefront of our business strategy, and we will continue to lead by example in the years to come.

A huge congrats to Tim Leahey and Cody Burcher on their win at the GT Festival on Phillip Island this weekend! Competing in the Genuine BMW Parts M4 GT4, they took the win in both Race 1 and 2 of Round 4 of the 2024 GT4 Australia National Championship. It's the first ever win for BMW in a GT category in Australia and the first victory in a National Motorsport Category by a BMW since the year 2000 👏 It was a great weekend for BMW overall, with Steve Jakic and Ryder Quinn in the Black Diamond Constructions M4 picking up a win and podium in the PRO-AM class and podium finishes in AM class thanks to Randell Racing. At BMW Australia we are proud to support the BMW teams with our GT4 Parts Logistics Support Program. #BMWAU #BMWM #GT4Australia

A big thank you to the 300+ dealer staff who participated in both events, engaging in immersive, hands-on learning experiences covering a wide range of electrification topics, all led by our dedicated training team. We are proud to offer the largest range of fully electric vehicles of any manufacturer in the country, underscoring our commitment to electrification. The future of mobility is electric. Electrifying our model range is a key step for us on the road to Neue Klasse. Our all-electric family will play a significant role in reducing our fleet emissions and meeting our strategic carbon reduction targets. This commitment is shared by our workforce, with a substantial number of our associates now selecting an EV as their preferred vehicle.
