Indigenous artist, Ambrose Killian, proud Eastern Arrernte and Western Bundjalung man created this special piece that represents Country, diversity, movement and community for TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS. Ambrose explains: “The artwork acknowledges Cammeraygal, Wangal, Gadigal and Bidigal people and their custodianship, care and connection to the lands we visit during the journey. Each group of peoples is connected through the footprints, symbolising journey and travelling, for many across oceans to participate in TCS Sydney Marathon. Throughout the background, flora, waterholes and mountains are depicted to represent the varying terrains and ecosystems of Country throughout the Sydney region.” Visit the TCS Experience Zone at TCS Sydney Running Show, Thursday 12 to Saturday 14th September at ICC to see this artwork at full scale for the biggest impact. Thank you to the panelists, Professor Veena Sahajwalla, Junice Yeo and Mahua Acharya for their insights and our moderators, Michele Lemmens and Grace Kerrison, for their guidance. #WomenxChange #GreenEconomy #Sustainability
