Exciting news! We are excited to be an Industry partner in the recently announced $9M ARC Research Hub for Molecular Biosensors at Point-of-Use (MOIBUS)! The Hub’s primary goal is to accelerate the growth of Australia's emerging biosensing industry. It aims to bridge the gap between university research and industry, while also nurturing future leaders in the field. This initiative will significantly enhance the Australian biotechnology sector, focusing on increasing production capacity and establishing new sovereign capability. Traditionally limited to healthcare, point-of-care biosensing technologies now find uses in agriculture (like our Agscent Breath and Air!! 🐮 ), food production, defence, biosecurity, and environmental protection. This is expected to yield significant progress in the development of our sensors for methane measurement, pregnancy and disease diagnostics! A huge congratulations and thanks goes to Noushin Nasiri for her hard work - a real champion of the sector. Hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, DiscoverAg is the state’s largest agricultural careers expo for year’s 9-12 students and their educators. We were honoured to be invited to the first Australian Government Sustainable Agriculture Summit. With Minister Chris Bowen and Minister Murray Watt kicking off the day, it started on a high note. It's exciting to see a $63.8 million investment in new funding to better measure on-farm carbon performance, help farmers make informed decisions, and invest more in low-emissions R&D. Key Messages from the Day: 🌾 Minister Chris Bowen reassured that action on climate change will not come at the expense of food security, and the agriculture sector will not be taken for granted or bear the burden of other sectors. ✅ While there are many great initiatives underway, more can be done. 👨🌾 As Sarah Hyland from GrainGrowers aptly put it, we should not "should all over" producers. Instead, we should empower them with the information to make their own choices. 📈 We need to emphasize the productivity and profitability gains with sustainable farming. Let's change the way we talk about carbon. What an incredible week it's been at Beef Australia for Agscent! 🐮 Engaging with producers and our great Australian beef industry at this fantastic event enabled us to showcase our innovation, collaboration, and receive some remarkable industry recognition. 🤝 Optiweigh Partnership: We kicked off with the exciting announcement of our partnership with OptiWeigh for in-field weight and methane measurement. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in our mission to revolutionise methane measurement in Aussie ag with flexible cutting-edge technology. 🏆 Rabobank Industry Awards: It was great to attend the Rabobank Industry Awards night, where we had the honour of hearing the courageous speech given from Tracey Hayes, watching Adam Coffey and Charles Vaughan take home their well-deserved awards and networking with industry leaders. 🌱 ARC Fellowship Announcement: We received an Australian Research Council Early Career Industry Fellowships, supporting our incredible research fellow Noushin Nasiri - reaffirming our commitment to developing smart sensing technologies. 📺 Bronwyn on BeefTV: Our founder, Dr Bronwyn Darlington had the opportunity to share our story on BeefTV, reaching audiences far and wide. 🚜 EvokeAg Pitch in the Paddock Winners: The pinnacle of the week was being announced as winners of the AgriFutures evokeAG Pitch in the Paddock competition, reaffirming the potential of our solutions to transform the industry landscape by some key industry leaders. 💼 Engaging with Industry: With over 150 people visiting our stand each and every day, we had the privilege of engaging with producers and industry, forging valuable connections, gauging Agscent Breath early adoption interest and exchanging ideas to drive positive change. Thankyou to everyone who showed their support for us across the week. It is safe to say it has been one of the biggest weeks for Agscent to date - we can't wait to see you all again in Rockhampton in 3 years time.
