Finished at the start of lockdown (my hair is a lot longer now!)Gallery Shawlette which was a collaboration between @thirdvaultyarns and @mrsumakes I loved knitting the mosaic sections but I still don't think lace knitting is for me. I definitely improved as I went but every time I try it something goes wrong!. Huge thanks to Diane for providing help when I got stuck. Well hello! First bloom of the year. I hope it survives the 40mph winds forecast today..... Enjoy the bank holiday weekend and stay safe. I'm fortunate to have the three days off work and I have massive appreciation to those who are working throughout the weekend. It's these odd days off that are keeping me going at the moment. New lockdown routines. Each evening I try to sit down at about quarter past six and spin for 10 or 15 minutes as the sun is going down at the front of our house. This fibre is Polwarth in Stormy Skies died by Almas @witchcraftylady I would highly recommend this gorgeous fibre from Almas to any spinner, but especially to those learning to spin as it's so smooth to spin with, drafts easily and consistently, and it's so fun to see how the pops of colour hand dyed onto the fibre translate into your finished yarn. Lockdown chic. But yeah, finished my Denby Hat from Evolution by @susancrawfordvintage all in handspun yarn. Grey is Shetland, blue/green is Falkland Merino/Devon Zwartbles. I love it! Perk of waking up early; a couple of rounds of knitting before work. This is Denby by @susancrawfordvintage from Evolution. Yarn is all handspun. Grey is undyed Shetland and the blue/black/green is 'Blue Spruce' from @jarbontextiles 65%Falkland Merino, 35% Devon Zwartbles. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! I have spun approx 100g of this merino/bamboo mix (and have enough for another similar sized skein) which is somewhere between sport weight and 4ply. I was going to knit the ripple crop top *but* this yarn is so light and squishy I don't think it would be suitable. I feel like for a ribbed top it should be more durable and solid. Does anyone have any suggestions please? I was thinking perhaps a massive garter stitch scarf or shawl.... something squidgy and soft and floaty....and would really appreciate some pattern suggestions please :-) #handspunyarn #handspun #handspinning #handspinnersofinstagram #woolmakersbliss
