A previously owned dress by Lana and worn during the Paradise Tour is going up for auction tomorrow

 

"Lana Del Rey's owned and worn vintage colorful abstract design dress from her Pop-Up shop in Los Angeles, November 24-25, 2017. Lana's Pop-Up shop, which ran for two days at 631 North Robertson Boulevard in California, sold her then new line of merchandise, as well as some old vintage pieces, such as this dress, and custom made dresses, that Lana had worn. Lana spent time each day at the store in person. The dress is in very good condition. Comes with a letter of authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity."

(funny fact about this picture, I literally wore this dress that night to a girl’s night out at Chili’s LMAOOO I simply love being overdressed everywhere I go! I also remember my friend asking the waiter if they had espresso martinis only for the waiter to give her a blank stare and be like “ma’am this is a Chili’s” skfnsk the gag is they actually recently added espresso martinis to their menu. Her voice was heard! This pic was also taken in January 2020, two months before the world shut down and forever changed as we knew it. What a surreal time xx)

 

Truly though, I would absolutely love to own a piece actually worn by Lana one day, to add to my collection of ~150 as seen on outfits that I own. However, I just can’t justify spending $1000 on it, especially on a H&M dress I already own that I’m sure I spent less than $100 on  One day hopefully though!! I’ll forever regret not flying out to that LFL popup and snagging a dress.. she needs to do that again xx

I actually have all of these dresses (not the coats though) in my collection too except for the Red Rocks & Corona Capital ones (I’ve been trying to track down those for yearsssss but those are actually vintage dresses, so they’ve been harder to find) but again, not the ones actually worn by Lana, just other makes of it. I can’t believe I wasn’t at that pop-up to actually buy one of the originals… only in my dreams. She also sold a bunch of other pieces from her wardrobe that she was never photographed in, but they were other gorgeous dresses and such.

 

She also sold the dress she wore in Montreal in 2014 for a charity auction a few months after the performance  -

This dress is actually the very first Lana clothing item I added to my collection in 2015. Once again, not the exact one worn by her, but another one. It’s vintage Gunne Sax and I bought it for a reeeeally great deal back then, I believe around $150. That dress now sells for $500+ as vintage Gunne Sax dresses have continued to rise in popularity.

This one was given to her friend Sarah that she was in her little girl group from 2018-2019

 

& the bodysuit worn under this dress was given to Valerie, you can see it as well as the above dress in this screencap of a video of Sarah & Val that Lana took -

 

 

 

 

This one was given to one of the girls in the Freak music video, also another lovely vintage Gunne Sax dress that I both own and saw her perform in -  

 

Chuck has this one and wore it in some of the Blue Banisters photoshoot pics -

 

 

Then of course we saw Chuck wearing the iconic Ferrari jacket last year, but it had also been confirmed Lana gave hers to a fan sometime in 2012-2014. So either Lana owned more than one or Chuck bought another. (Or the fan lied about that, but she shared pictures of her Lana together and then the jacket signed, but she could’ve had Lana sign another one for her) I’ve seen Chuck in two of Lana’s other racing jackets from the old days though, the Miller Lite one and the McLaren Formula 1 one - 

 

I know there’s other wardrobe pieces of hers that I’ve recognised on her friends & Chuck, but these are the ones I first thought of off the top of my head x

Okay wait… uh.. this might be a scam?? The dress they have pictured does NOT appear to be the one Lana wore.

 

This is a picture of the dress that was sold in the pop-up shop. It was also signed for the fan who originally bought it, which is not noted in that auction description - 

 
 

 

Now look at the picture of Lana wearing it and the one the auction house has listed, specifically on the right side. The photos of Lana wearing the dress and the photo from the pop-up show that the right side of the dress is yellow and green. The one from the auction house shows mostly purple? And the inner collar of the original is yellow and pink where the one from the auction house shows pink and red.
Then look at the front pleats. The pictures of the dress from the pop-up shop and on Lana show a green panel, a panel of purple and red, and then a purple panel. The picture of the dress from the auction house shows a red pink and yellow panel, a green panel, and then a blue and purple.

Also if you look at the big red spot on the left edge right above where the seam meets, you see a white dot right on the left edge in the auction house picture. On the pop-up and LDR picture, that dot veers more towards the right. The placement of the red&pink patches above it also look different.

& again, they did not note that the dress was signed, which the original is, and I feel like that’s an important detail to note.

I’m going to contact the auction house about the authenticity of the dress so no one is cheated lol there’s a possibility they maybe used a stock photo of the dress or the way it’s pleated makes it appear different in that photo, but… something seems off x

Edit: one more discrepancy I noticed is that Lana altered the sleeves to be smaller/less drape-y (she commonly alters a lot of her stage wear) If you look at this photo of her wearing the dress with her arms raised, you can see that the sleeves don’t drape as they originally do. You can look at my photo wearing the dress a few posts above to see how the sleeves originally fall. When looking at the auction house photo, the sleeves look to be unaltered as you can see the extra length draping at the sides. Lana has them shortened, which is more evident in the popup picture -
