The Mark 10 was considered obsolescent when war broke out, but it was
used on the (equally obsolescent) S-class
submarines. It was the last of the Bliss designs. Ironically, it used
a simple contact detonator that was considerably more reliable than
that of the Mark 14 used on more
modern U.S. submarines. Its overall hit percentage was 29%.
