Photo-shoot...

This is our cute little niece Sydney, here are a few of my favorites from our photo-shoot we had, she is 5 days old in the pictures :)

She was so good, she even smiled on cue!

Thanks Justin & Rachel for making such a beautiful baby, and for letting me play dress up with her!

Halloween 2011

We just couldn't get away from the blue.... (see last years costumes here)

I'll give you 3 guesses to what we made with this stuff...

A robotic house plant?... No, but nice try

Give up? Good.

We made these!

MINIONS! :)

That's right, straight from Gru's lab, and despicably irresistible

My minion....

"Whaaaaaaa?!"

And Joel's minion...

"Da da da...Papoy....papoy!"

These were really fun costumes and I am so glad they turned out how I was hoping... We wore them to the annual Halloween dance party at the Willeys :) Nothing like being claustrophobic, sweaty, and unable to see where you are going- I'm fairly certain that you could survive being stranded in the Alps inside one of these guys, you would stay nice and toasty! Thanks for the good time, good food, and good company :)

P.S- I am more than willing to turn you into a minion for a very large fee and a frozen custard

Method to my madness...

I'm sure you have all seen or heard of a crazy coupon lady. In fact, I'm sure you have all been frustrated that you got in line behind "one of them"... but rest assured people, it's all for good reason. Here's why:

Grocery: 2 boxes cereal, 2 boxes fruit snacks, 2 boxes rice krispies treats, 2 packages Keebler cookies, and 2 boxes Nutri-grain bars. Total cost after tax and coupons: $5.37

Other: 1 men's deodorant, 4 packages panty liners, 6 tubes of face wash, 3 packages of Kleenex, 18 (yes 1.8.) tubes of toothpaste, 2 tubes of Bengay, 4 nail polishes, 1 bottle of Zyrtec, a pair of prescription glasses. Also there were 3 rolls of scotch tape, 3 sharpie markers, 2 (10 pack) Bic pens, and 1 JUMBO 40 pack of Huggies diapers that did not fit in the picture. Total cost after tax and coupons: $26. 40

So next time you get in line behind "one of us" - you should be frustrated that you aren't saving tons of money using coupons, instead of having to wait 2 minutes longer :)

Family Photos 2011

It's been awhile (like 3 years.. awhile) since we've taken any family pictures. So here we are :)

Not bad for having a wiggly puppy and having the camera on a timer :)

Summer Mash-up...

Hold on to your hats, cause here we go! Ready? Okay!

1. Piano Recital: Turned out lovely- we enjoyed beautiful music by all the performers :)

2. Cute Macie: Taking naps on her back, having surgery, chewing off her casts multiple times, wearing the cone of shame, and being a tasmanian devil and hunting her innocent prey (tennis balls hiding under the couch)

3. School- blah... no pictures or explanation needed... Joel is on the downhill now and will finish soon, and I had a memory lapse of some sort and enrolled myself back in school... I hate when that happens.

4. Home Improvement: Installed ceiling fans, that's what I'm talking about! (and to think we laughed when the directions said may take 120 minutes to install, pfffft- "we'll show them 120 minutes!" ... yeah it took us 3.5 hours..), combined the office and craft room, and made the second bedroom a bedroom... go figure.

5. Girls Camp- I was asked to help as the Stake Nurse... Everyone survived, nuff said :)

6. Random: Ate the yummiest cupcake ever!... You need to try the "Lemon Cake-Bite" and "Pina-Colada Cupcake" from Sweet Tooth Fairy. I'm 100% convinced they are worth the calories :)

7. Celebrations: This handsome guy turned 26, Happy Birthday!

This is why I love summer....

Good food! ...

More good food...

Warm weather and being outside...

Going on walks with this lil' one... (She is pouncing my legs.. she gets really excited to go on walks)

And house projects... (This is Macie's inescapable dog pen Joel built)

And being able to use our new ceiling fan....

Why can't summer stay all year round...?

Nap time, shots, and a bubble bath...

Our life for the last two weeks consists of one word... Macie! From our frightful trip to the vet after she was knocked out and got a concussion (poor girl..), to the nightly debate of "she's not going to sleep in the bed tonight" ... but no worries she has since recovered and is back to her wild little self :) Here's a picture of her and Joel taking a little cat nap...

Aww.. cute!

I also decided that since we could save a lot of money, I would give her vaccines... I've given countless shots and figured it would not be a problem... FYI- a dogs skin is a LOT thicker than a humans, I'm glad I know now.. So I had to poke her more than once since I was caught off guard... We were really scared she was going to hate us forever, she is really good at ignoring us and acting put out when she's mad. But she was so brave and forgave us the next day :)

Macie's first bubble bath.... Oooh, this is kinda fun...

Ok, I'm getting a little nervous now...

GET ME OUTTA HERE!

We love her, she is so stinkin cute... She's growing so fast, she's already gained 1 pound and grown about 2 inches! I wish she could stay this little forever. She's also very smart (which I was really worried about after her concussion). She knows how to sit, shake, stand, and whine for food or to go outside to potty... She's still working on "come" and "lay down", and not chewing on everything and anyone in sight...That will come with time I suppose.

In other news... Joel has started his next semester already, but we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, just a few more semesters to go, yay!

Introducing.... Macie!

Joel and I officially took the plunge and are "parents" to this beautiful little girl...

We got her on Tues. April 26th, she is a Pomeranian/Terrier mix, with possible poodle according to her owner. So what do you get when you mix all of those breeds together? ... that's right! A teacup black lab! We just hope she stays little and keeps her super soft silky short fur :) She hasn't had her check up yet, but we are guessing she is about 3 pounds right now, she was born on Mar. 6th in a litter of 5 pups... and was the runt of the bunch, but we are already in love with her and excited to have her in our new little family!

Her favorite activities include: snuggling, having staring contests and pouncing on Joel, chewing on her name tag or anything for that matter, jumping out of her crate, burrowing into small spaces, acting like she's a cow or human or cat, and getting tummy rubs.

Her least favorite things include: car rides, getting car-sick, throwing up all over Kenzlee, loud noises, her itchy collar, walking on newspaper, and getting her feet wet when she's goes potty outside.

All ready to go shopping!

We love you MACIE! (a.k.a- macie moo, and mace of bass)

Catching up and Easter...

Hope everyone had a fabulous Easter! I worked that weekend, but was able to catch the last few minutes of the Farr Easter celebration and watch everyone show off their crazy dance moves on the Wii :) I was also caught up to speed by my niece and nephew... Josie let me know about dinner, saying, "Joel is my friend and pomatoes (tomatos) are yucky!" and DeeKen told me about the Easter egg hunt explaining, "I found lots of eggs, and I even had to find them way at my Grandma's house!" Thanks guys :)
We also were able to take part in the crazy adult easter egg hunt at my parents.... Kenzlee was the big winner this year and took home a big stash of cash and candy, Joel and I on the other hand were awesome at finding all the eggs with candy and one dollar bills haha- but it was a blast and the best part was at the very end when my brother gave an egg to my mom saying something was wrong -that it wouldn't open- and when she opened it there was a binky inside!! She's finally going to be a grandma! (the big day is November 10- but we're hoping the 11th so it's birthday will be 11-11-11) pretty awesome! Congrats Justin and Rachel! And thanks to all of our families and parents who made these celebrations possible! Happy Easter!

P.S- I got the announcement on video, I will try to put it up if I can figure it out- and I forgot to take my camera to the party so no pictures this time, sorry. ..

Girls night and Vegas!

To all of you who think we may have dropped off the face of the planet... this post is for you. Let's catch you all up to speed, shall we?
A few weeks ago we (the Farr clan, and my mom) had a Jamberry Nail party/ girl's night. If you haven't already heard or seen these, check them out :) We all picked our designs and dressed up our toes, and ate some munchies (aka chocolate). I love mine- and they are still on, I hope everyone else has had good luck with theirs too!

We also got a little time to relax and enjoy some warm weather in Vegas. Even though Joel got sick on the way down, and had a fever and ragging head/neck-ache for the first couple days, we managed to have some fun. Let me just say, the people in Cirque du Soleil are not really human, I'm convinced... because I know people, and people don't bend, twist, lift, flip, and crawl down walls like they did. It was a really fun and entertaining show and I'm just happy that the guy in front of me, and the lady to the side of me got picked out of the audience and not me, because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have like the show at all if that happened :) We also found out that we are really out of style- since we walked through 8 miles of malls and couldn't find a single thing to buy, haha- oh well. However, while waiting for the show to start we did find some cool shades to try on...

Now Utah just needs to learn how to do weather like Vegas does!
