Fit For A Princess

My daughter and I spent the afternoon together having lunch and going to pick up her wedding gown. We ordered it months ago and now to see it in real life is quite a reality check for dear old mom! She looks amazingly beautiful in it ~ the champagne color is exquisite on her. But wow ~ I couldn't believe how heavy it is! I debated about posting a picture of the dress here and ultimately decided against it. I am old-fashioned and a bit superstitious and I would hate for the groom to happen upon it and ruin the surprise for the Big Day. So instead I will show you the veil and tiara she selected. I can't believe my little princess is going to wear a tiara. She was a bit hesitant about it at first, but when she put it on with the dress, we both knew she had to have it. Now we just have to find a place to store the dress for the next 3 months ~ and in a house with not much closet space, that is going to be a real challenge!

Show & Tell Sunday. . .On Tuesday!

Sunday Cerri and Analise had another installment of their Show & Tell Sunday feature and I was out of town so couldn't post any pics of my vintage bling. So I'm taking the advice of the old adage, "Better late than never" and posting my photos a couple days late. Hope you enjoy the trip down Vintage Lane!
I love these pastel enameled pieces.A little red jewelry for some spice!

I adore anything aqua, especially jewels. The center necklace was purchased during one of Holly's Flea Market Friday sales.
And of couse no display of bling could go without some crown jewels.

Sweet Little Bird Nest Swap

Heather from Speckled-Egg hosted the Sweet Little Bird Nest Swap and I made this teacup bird nest for my swap partner, Laurie.
The little green birdy is nestled in next to her eggs among glitter, pearls, sparkley grass and lots of tulle.
I tucked in a little bag of trims and vintage paper scraps, along with some pink peanut M & M's (I thought they looked like eggs) for a small treat. Laurie isn't feeling well right now, so I hope this little birdy cheers her up a bit.

Here is the sweet bird nest box that Laurie made for me. Aren't the colors perfect for me? I think so!!!
This little Miss is looking might royal as she protects her newly hatched speckled eggs.
And Laurie included lots of extra goodies for me to play with, all in my favorite colors! :)
